Charlie Murphy was Eddie's older brother and was in a current series,
BLACK JESUS. He belonged in. So did Barbara Hale.

They'd left a long gap between the two segments for last-minute
inserts. Too bad they didn't take advantage of it. And I'm calling
horseshit on the idea that there wasn't enough time to include Harry
Dean Stanton. The obits are more or less Powerpoint presentations
these days; they could have included Stanton in two minutes or less.

Charlie did a terrific job on Chappelle's Show and Black Jesus. He should have been noted, with Ms. Hale, Richard Anderson, and several others mentioned above.

Judge Wapner and Erin Moran were included in the memoriam segment for the daytime Emmys. (I would have associated Moran with the prime time version for Happy Days, of course, rather than the soap she was on.)

No excuse for missing Barbara Hale (an Emmy winner, and on an iconic show), Ron Glass (a nominee) and Anderson (first/only person to play the same role on two concurrent shows; I guess Martin Brooks qualifies for playing Rudy Wells, but I don't recall he was in every episode.) Guess those creating the memoriam reel are too young to remember them.

this, but the bit where Hawkeye complained about the food and insulted the
"staff" AT EVERY MEAL made me hate him. What a jerk. What a disgusting
man. (Why would Alda even agree to do those scenes? Was he that blind as
to how it made his character come off?) Meanwhile, Marcus was laughing so
loud at the poor schmuck getting an earful from the prima donna doctor
that he didn't even notice there was a laugh track. Unbelievable.

I rarely see it in reruns, but if I catch one, I will watch it if it's a
Blake. If it's a Potter, I'm turning the channel. Even though I enjoyed
Winchester, and they finally made Margaret interesting toward the end,
Potter's forced cornpone schtick is too annoying for me to sit through.

Just saw the M*A*S*H episode, "As You Were", laugh track quite low, hardly any actually...and I had three to four hearty belly-laughs during it.

Still holds up.

I'm surprised that Alda and Farrell haven't come out and tried to make
it look like MASH was ahead of its time in promoting crossdressing with

After that, it seems after that many episodes (150 or so) they've just about explored every possible comedic scenario concerning the characters and the show begins to get stale.

Spot on. The show got preachy when Burns, Trapper and Col. Blake left.
Then Alda took over with his beard BJ Honeycunt and turned into a
libtard pulpit with no sense of humor.

They tried to portray it as a realistic example of military life in the
Korean War. Anyone who pulled the shit Hawkeye did would have wound up
in Leavenworth Prison with a dishonorable discharge doing 20 years of
hard labor.

Seven seasons of course is related to the De Havilland Rule (Dame Olivia
won a court case enforcing California limits of employment contracts to 7
years).If there wasn't a guaranteed right of stars to quit/renegotiate at

Mary Tyler Moore should have had a stand alone tribute. As John
Podhoretz has written she was the greatest actress in TV sitcom
history.

I've been watching the entire MTM series since her death and am about
halfway through season 5. I am strongly inclined to agree with
Podhoretz's assessment. The whole cast was very strong, but Moore
herself was just brilliant.

The whole newsroom did an extra specil super duper
job in the episode they ran October 20, 1973...
