New parody: Fairytales Can Come True

Because I consider this a parody, rather than just reuse of a
tune, I kept more than my usual of the original song.

Title: Fairytales Can Come True
ttto: Young At Heart by Johnny Richards and Carolyn Leigh

Fairytales can come true,
Seems they happen to you,
When you're high on drugs.

For it's hard, you will find,
Utilizing your mind
When you're high on drugs.

You just go to extremes
With impossible schemes

And you laugh at the dreams
That would norm'ly cause screams

Your mind gets more excited with each passing day.
You know the mother ship is surely on its way

But the cost will be worth
All your holdings on Earth
To stay high on drugs

For as rich as you were
Those big prices recur
To keep you on drugs

So do you want to thrive,
Or to even survive?
No one else can derive
How you're staying alive

Your dealers are sharp thugs,
Enforcers are hard lugs.
Careful when you buy
To keep you high on drugs

Guessing a lyricist's opinions from his songs is as futile as
guessing an author's opinions from his novels.

Don't I know it! I got two immunization shots, and then got a bill
listing vaguely defined charges totalling over $700. Insurance covered
most of it, but that just means I pay on the installment plan.

Oh, that wasn't what you were writing about? :)

My last immunization (senior quadrivalent flu) was free (except for
showing Medicare & Part D cards) but I did have to do some stuff to earn
those.

As you know, I wasn't. But it does sound like the kind of thing
that should be "celebrated" in song.

Thank you. I "should" have matched the original and made the
title something like ""High on Drugs". But I wanted that line to be
a surprise (at least the first time you read or hear the song).

If you called it "High on Drugs," Facebook would never let you post it.
(If you even care.)

In that I'm not on Facebook, I don't care. In that Facebook
controls the communications of so many people, I do care.
