So many years ago an angelic entity challenged the very character of God. He made claims that God was unworthy and that he offered to make things better for anyone who would join with him. According to the Bible 1/3 of the angels joined with him.

God could have disappeared this being. Voosh! Gone. All the angels would have trembled and obeyed.

In this system there would be no love. Plus, the angels would always be thinking, "I wonder if that being, that very one who defied God was correct after all?" And throughout eternity coup attempts would be made as God would be eternally distrusted.

But....

What if this angelic entity was give a chance to prove himself? To illustrate to the entire universe exactly what his philosophy of life would do?

What if he was given a chance?

The whole universe could see the results and decide if this angelic entity had the right philosophy and choose.

His record would decide his fate. And for some 6000 years he has been given a chance and that is about to end.

Now look around you. Do you like what you see?

So all the incalculable immensity of human suffering and pain and torment and death
that the human race has groaned under for as long as there have been humans
was just so God could make some kind of point?

God's cruelty in letting Satan kick Job around just so God could win his collegial little bar bet
with Satan pales into insignificance compared to this.

Asteroid's version of? Your version of?

Haven't found any reason to.

But if I go play in Asteroid's sandbox, I am allowed to go by the rules of his playground.

Exactly the same way i could question a follower of Zeus about his God's
rather ... creative sexual practices.

Or ask a follower of Odin why no one has muzzled Fenrir, given that
Fenrir is going to kill Odin when the prophecies of Ragnarok come to pass.

God quite specifically gives Satan permission. God gives Satan
permission to do anything to Job, short of killing him.

Which includes killing all of Job's children and servants
and animals. (what *is* it with your God and animals, anyhow?)

To God the sons and daughters and servants are little better
than poker chips in their little wager. All just to make a point.

What the dumbass does not realize that the bible was written by humans

If you have other data, `drool will ignore yours, as he does mine.

When he is confronted by evidence that challenges his world view
he just "blanks out" and keeps reciting the party line.

Ridiculous. If he weren't a figure out of legend, Yahooey
would be an infanticidal, genocidal, war criminal, torturing,

I wouldn't be on his side, nor that of his District Attorney and

Looking at the Oxford English dictionary, I'm seeing that
"God" was not capitalized until around the 15th century.

So if that capital 'G' is somehow so all-consumingly important,
your god didn't become God until fourteen hundred and something.

.> Because --> there is no 'god'.
.> But we do have a most awesome
.> Creator. ---> God <---
Looking at the Oxford English dictionary, I'm seeing that
"God" was not capitalized until around the 15th century.
So if that capital 'G' is somehow so all-consumingly important,
your god didn't become God until fourteen hundred and something.
Now tell us about your 'god'.

It's your fantasy. When an "all knowing--all powerful" being

Interesting how you try to clear your monster god of all guilt. No doubt,
if the printing press had been invented later and the story had more time
to change, Satan's suggestion would have been turned down and Satan would
have tormented Job (to prove his point) until your 'God' deigned to notice
and stopped him. But, that isn't what happened in your Bible ...

Your 'God' went along with it. He could have said, "No, Job has already
proven his loyalty many times over. Why make him suffer unnecessarily?"
Your Satan, in Judaism, started out as a Trickster angel. And, your
'God' was dumb enough to fall for his trick.

Just think - without the printing press, your 'God' could have been phased
out and completely replaced by Jesus and the Holy Ghost could have been
turned into Satan or John the Baptist. The Gnostics would be laughing their heads off at that possibility. So would the people today who still believe
that John the Baptist was the real 'son of God'.

He specifically declared that he was not.

"Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews
sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him,
“Who are you?”
He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed,
“I am not the Christ.” ~ John 1:19-20

So many years ago an angelic entity challenged the very character of
God. He made claims that God was unworthy and that he offered to make
things better for anyone who would join with him. According to the
Bible 1/3 of the angels joined with him.
God could have disappeared this being. Voosh! Gone. All the angels
would have trembled and obeyed.
In this system there would be no love. Plus, the angels would always be
thinking, "I wonder if that being, that very one who defied God was
correct after all?" And throughout eternity coup attempts would be
made as God would be eternally distrusted.
But....
What if this angelic entity was give a chance to prove himself? To
illustrate to the entire universe exactly what his philosophy of life would do?
What if he was given a chance?
The whole universe could see the results and decide if this angelic
entity had the right philosophy and choose.
His record would decide his fate. And for some 6000 years he has been
given a chance and that is about to end.
Now look around you. Do you like what you see?
So all the incalculable immensity of human suffering and pain and torment and death
that the human race has groaned under for as long as there have been humans
was just so God could make some kind of point?
God's cruelty in letting Satan kick Job around just so God could win his
collegial little bar bet
with Satan pales into insignificance compared to this.

According to your myth, a god who doesn't care about its human creations
at all and only wanted to prove that since it knows past, present and
future, it knew what would happen and, therefore, scare everyone into
being its slave both mentally and physically as it knew they would. And
you're too dumb to understand that. It's a man-made myth created for

people into belief. It's no different now, only most ministers aren't

So many years ago an angelic entity challenged the very character of God. He made claims that God was unworthy and that he
offered to make things better for anyone who would join with him. According to the Bible 1/3 of the angels joined with him.
God could have disappeared this being. Voosh! Gone. All the angels would have trembled and obeyed.
In this system there would be no love. Plus, the angels would always be thinking, "I wonder if that being, that very one who
defied God was correct after all?" And throughout eternity coup attempts would be made as God would be eternally distrusted.
But....
What if this angelic entity was give a chance to prove himself? To illustrate to the entire universe exactly what his philosophy
of life would do?
What if he was given a chance?
The whole universe could see the results and decide if this angelic entity had the right philosophy and choose.
His record would decide his fate. And for some 6000 years he has been given a chance and that is about to end.
Now look around you. Do you like what you see?
According to your myth, a god who doesn't care about its human creations
He died on the cross that you may have salvation. Yes He cares.
I wasn't talking about his bastard through rape. I was talking about your 'God'. You know - Yahweh/Jehovah. You do know who your god is,
I hope. Or have you replaced him with Jesus already?

at all and only wanted to prove that since it knows past, present and
future, it knew what would happen and, therefore, scare everyone into
being its slave both mentally and physically as it knew they would. And
you're too dumb to understand that. It's a man-made myth created for
the eventual purpose of keeping priests in power and scaring
people into belief. It's no different now, only most ministers aren't
doing nearly as well as they used to - just the occasional evangelist
and the Vatican. Of course, I'm taking into account that you were probably
nattering about the Christian version of your god.

Why? Why go through all that rigamarole?
Why not simply say "I forgive you"? Much simpler, no
pain, no death required. Human fathers do that all the time.
They don't try to make high drama out of it.
