I watched:

THE GUEST BOOK: The pilot episode from a week or so ago of this new TBS
sitcom about people visiting a small hotel in the woods. In this
episode, Danny Pudi (POWERLESS) and Lauren Lapkus (ORANGE IS THE NEW
BLACK) try to get away from their evil baby for a weekend of romance,
but it gets derailed by a local stripper and her family. Mildly funny
premise that will get me to watch more.

ATYPICAL: The pilot episode of this new Netflix sitcom about a family
with an autistic kid. Parents (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh and
Michael Rappaport) seem to have two odd children (played by Keir
Gilchrist and Brigette Lundy-Paine) to raise in different areas of the
spectrum. Therapist Amy Okuda (THE GUILD) tries to aid in life's
navigation. This show is well cast and well acted and the first episode
was funny. I will watch more even though the lovely redhead (Megan
Easton) seems to have been nothing more than a ship in the night.

COLOSSAL: A 2016 film starring Anne Hathaway as a woman trying to deal
with her inner demons. She leaves her boyfriend and returns to her
hometown where she reconnects with childhood friend Jason Sudeikis and
discovers a bit of herself she never knew she had. I knew this film was
going to be 'sci-fi' in nature, but I had no idea that it would be a
mash-up with one of Ian's Lifetime original movies. Parts of this film
were brilliant (the two leads and the storyline) and parts of it were
frustrating (the underdeveloped side characters who didn't act
logically). If nothing else, the story didn't go in the directions that
I expected it to go. In ways, it reminded me of BIRDMAN. I'm quite
sure there was a bunch of metaphor lying around that I missed. Whatever
the case, it is a movie worth watching and it is a shame that it didn't
find an audience at the theater.

I guess it was OK but you seemed to like it more than I did.

What did you watch?

Room 104 (HBO) "The Knockandoo" - I'm trying really hard to stick with
this series since every episode is different. But episodes like this
make it hard. It's hard to describe what this one was even about. It
stared Sameerah Luqmaan-Harris as this week's hotel room occupant who
was joined by Orlando Jones as a cult priest who shows her videos of
Tony Todd who is the head of the cult. Most of the episode was sameerah
talking about a past experience while Jones performed some sort of weird
cleansing ritual on her. The way it ended had the same type of ambiguity
as the first episode but even less satisfying, if you can believe that's
possible.

The Sinner - Episode 2. We sort of get a motive.

The Beguiled (Netflix rental0 - 1971 movie staring Clint Eastwood as an
injured Civil War soldier from the North taken in by a Southern girl's
school and nursed back to health. I saw the remake a couple of months
ago. I think I probably liked the remake a bit more. Maybe if I didn't
already know how this was going to end I would have liked it better, but
I can't be sure.

So I DVR searched for "Guest"
First listing is GUEST BOOK on TBS, 10 airings, plus S1 The Guest Book :
Bue ... on TBSMP 1:18 and S1 The Guest Book: T... 1:48 and STory One and
Story Two and Xtra: The Guest Book ...
Then they also list THE GUEST BOOK which has 10 entries on TBS and then
BUEST BOOK HD which has 6 S1 and Story One on On Demand and then
GUEST COTTAGE (Peppermint Patty wants to sleep with Charlie Brown)
and then THE GUEST with Emma Ishta and Salli Richardson-Whitefield,

What did you watch?

Naked. The thing with the Groundhog Day naked guy in the elevator.
After about an estimated 45 minutes of this terribly acted thing, I
pushed the info button to see how the Hell much longer it could have to
go, and was horrified to find out I was only 6 minutes into it! They
even managed to make Dennis Haysbert tedious, which I wouldn't have
thought was possible.

KILLJOYS / The Wolf You Feed / 3x07

[Desperate for an advantage, Dutch goes AWOL and risks a dangerous
procedure that connects her to Aneela's memories.]

The whole Dutch/Aneela thing continues to not work for me. It probably
doesn’t help that the writers seemed to be as confused as I am at this
point, but at least I have the excuse that boredom with it all has led
me to tuning out a lot of it, as I did here. OTOH, the Johnny and D’Av
stuff was pretty good in this one, especially D’Av doing damage control
and stepping into a leadership void. Still, this is one in a string of
mostly disappointing outings in recent weeks.

DARK MATTER / The Dwarf Star Conspiracy / 3x11

[One of the Android's newly discovered memories leads the crew to a
suspicious Dwarf Star facility on Nova 17.]

INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS meets STARGATE. At a Dwarf Star facility
on a planet, our heroes find a boatload of “biosynthetic organisms”
(“simulants”) like Two that have been built by WesleyCrusherRook, each
with its own false identity records and indications that they’ve been
designed to infiltrate human groups. Three has issues and is drawn to a
gateway/anomaly at the facility. He figures out that the simulants are
meant to serve as host bodies for the beings on the other side of the
gateway -- beings from a dying universe -- and that WesleyRook sold out
to those beings a long time ago for tech and money. Because Wesley
Crusher is a tool in any universe. In the end, a nuke strike is called
in to end a siege at the facility and Two ends up in an unusual FTL
situation that I won’t understand until it’s explained to me next week.
But at least she’s not dead. Probably. All in all, I probably enjoyed
this one even more than The Android is enjoying her own boobs these days.

WYNONNA EARP / I See a Darkness / 2x10

[The team may not be able to save one of their own after a deadly run-in
with the Widows.]

It’s all about the third seal, a.k.a. Doc’s ring. Deputy Haught ends up
getting bitten in a catfight with Widow Mercedes, so our insanely cute
redhead’s days -- hours -- are numbered unless our gang comes up with a
cure. At the hospital, we meet Shae, Haught’s willowy and insanely
attractive doctor wife, who comes as a surprise to Waverly. An impetuous
Vegas wedding that had since cooled off, we learn. In any case, I’m
suddenly a huge fan of bigamy. Hey, I’m a guy. We’re pigs. Back on the
ring/seal front, a desperate Waverly gets conned by Gretta, an Iron
Witch and the late Blacksmith’s sister, who conveniently doubles as an
RN at the hospital. With a big assist from Doc Holliday, Fauxcedes
eventually ends up providing Wynonna with a cure for Haught in a
suitably painful way. But Wynonna finds Nicole fully recovered, thanks
to Waverly’s poor decisions that have led to the ring being in the wrong
hands. For her efforts, Gretta wants an infamous trophy with a history
as her thank-you gift. Doc intercedes and vanishes the instant he
touches the trophy. And Wynonna disappears, as well. From a different
building entirely and in some sort of quantum entanglement sort of way.
And just like that, Wynonna is forgotten by everyone and Doc ends up
back back in the well while Jeremy and Waverly have a...wedding to plan?
In the end, a typically solid outing that will tide me over until
Waverly gets her own spinoff series featuring her two insanely hot
wives. Yeah, I just can’t let that one go.

What did you watch?

It's all just due to Aneela. At least that's how I feel as she isn't a
compelling character. Even though she pulled off a miracle and helped
to keep her little miracle safe she never managed to rise to the
occasion emotionally. She still strikes me as a spoiled young teenager
(or maybe younger) in an adult body and that's never going to be
compelling viewing.

What did you watch?

Normally when I lose track of a significant character or plot arc, I'll
go back and rewatch something or read a recap or two, but I just don't
care in this case. Which is rare, especially given that I'm enjoying the
show, for the most part.
