I am using Slackware 14.2, 64-bit.
Every time that I want to use Skype For Linux, I have to launch
alsamixer, F6 to select my dedicated sound card, press the space bar
for Front Mi(crophone) and Mic(rophone) channels, and increase the
volume for the Input channel. After that the microphone works with
Skype.
The problem is that the settings do not stick, even after having issued
the command (as superuser):
alsactrl store
What do I need to do in order to have alsamixer permanently store the
settings? I also tried PulseAudio Volume Control but nothing there made
my microphone work.
