I was just watching a segment on Good Morning Australia while waiting
for the bus, and I noticed a beautiful young lady named Lauren Newton
and was wondering who she was. I noticed Bert said something to her
about having famous parents so I'm assuming she is Olivia Newton-John's
daughter. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Google tells me it's Bert and Patti Newton.

The Harvey Norman store in Freemantle has a satellite television
display. It appears good value too. They are aiming to capture the
'grey nomad' population. They sell a kit which has a set top box, a
90cm dish and lnb on a tripod, and an anologue signal metre (for aiming
the dish). It comes with a FTA card and they also claim that any
foxtel/optus satellite card can be inserted into the second slot. It's
a really good system if you want to get your free to air programmes 3
hours earlier than normal. If I ever decide to buy a television, I'm
getting one of these units as well.

And most 'grey nomads' aren't 'older ppl' either. Most are in the late
50's the early 60's and you'd be surprised with their skills and
abilities.

LOL. You're confusing backpackers with 'grey nomads'. Your typical
'grey nomad' is a retired blue collar worker (usually formerly
self-employed) with a vast variety of mechanical and technical skills.
They are also very cashed up after selling their homes and successful
businesses to go 'on the wallaby'. If you happen to require a bit of
welding done or modifications to your caravan or car, or a fishing rod
repaired, you never have to look past any popular campsite. I even met
a fellow once that even travelled with a key cutting machine - I'm
serious. And he made a nice little earner out of it too.

I was refering to the "downshifters" who, I'd guess, would not want to
re-embrace such things as satellite TV. While I do agree with your comment,
I do think there are lot of travelling retirees who live in denial of
anything more of driving their Winnebagos and working their fancy batphones
to keep in touch with "the kids".

No doubt there are people like that too, but there are plenty more who
have been looking for a way to get reception while outside the broadcast
zone. This set-up I saw today at the Freemantle Harvey Norman store
will sell very very well I predict. There are current systems in place,
but you have to buy all the components seperately. This 'kit' contains
all you need to get FTA reception anywhere in Australia. Bring it on!!!

Both Bert and Patti would be too old to be Olivia's offspring. I think
you're trying to lead me up the garden path.

It occoured to me the other day that if everyone agreed to post with
X-No-Archive in protest, the loss of content might force Google to
listen and start blocking posts to old threads (and fix the other
faults in their posting system as well).

However it then occoured to me that they might just as easily give
