I have tried but it keeps running. Please steps to turn of the
msmseng.exe scanner.
You never said how *you* tried to disable Defender (it's not called MS
Virus). Did you try the obvious and go into Defender's configuration
and disable its real-time scan feature?

I tried to have it ignore an app BUT that does not work !
Does "ignore an app" mean you elected to temporarily allow the app after
getting a popup alert, or you added the app's file(s) to Defender's
exclusion [white]list?
https://www.google.com/search?q=windows%2010%20defender%20exclude
You will need to exclude not only the app's main .exe but any other
files (.exe, .dll) that it calls. Instead of selecting the file(s) to
exclude, you could elect to exclude all files under a folder.
I will turn it back on after I run checks.
So why not exclude the app's executable file(s)? Defender has a
whitelist. If Defender is alerting on an app, why would you want
Defender off for awhile ("after [you] run checks") to let the app run
and then had Defender block the app afterward? Why keep the app if you
are going to have Defender continue blocking it from loading?
Win 10 Home.
Defender in Windows 7 is not the same as Defender in Windows 10. In
Windows 7, and earlier, Defender was only a spyware detector. With
Windows 8, and later, anti-virus detection got added to Defender. You
are asking about using Defender (not MS Virus) under Windows 10, not
under Windows 7.
