I'm currently looking for a new kitchen mixer tap but struggling to find
the time to get round lots of Edinburgh shops. Is there anywhere
particularly recommended for a wide choice and opportunity to inspect
choices?

John Lewis has a pretty good selection and that's where we just bought
one.

Depends if you want high pressure (combi boiler or very modern system) or
low pressure (cold water tank). I buy mine on line from Tap Warehouse -
huge selection and helpful. I used to buy from John Lewis (Franke) but now
that high pressure is the most common, I would want to go to someone who
understood taps.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I found a decent choice at a
plumbing supplier down in Leith. the only place I managed to find a
brushed metal finish tap.
