Detective Harry Bosch returns for a new explosive season. He is
assigned a new case that has the city of Los Angeles on a verge of a
riot. Bosch finds himself at several crossroads both professionally
and personally. He remains relentless in his pursuit of his mother’s
killer and will stop anything to pursue justice. This will be a season
unlike any other.

Bosch returns 4/13 on Prime Video.

YES!!

I'm a huge fan of Bosch and have been waiting eagerly for Season 4. I'm
delighted to hear that it's not too far in the future now and that there
will be a Season 5!

I was intrigued by Chance and respected the writers for exploring
something interesting: an educated man being drawn to the Dark Side
despite his intellect. I don't see much similarity to Bosch though.
Bosch is an intelligent man, certainly, but so are lots of people; he's
certainly not a vigilante.

But maybe you didn't mean to make that kind of comparison....

Is this their longest-running scripted series?
No. I think that TRANSPARENT is still the title holder in that respect.

No. I think that TRANSPARENT is still the title holder in that respect.
If Robin meant by number of episodes...

"Transparent" has 40 episodes and it's been renewed but it's unclear
if additional episodes will get made.

"Bosch" has 40 episodes, counting the upcoming season and will have 50
counting the renewal.

"Mozart in the Jungle" has 40 episodes, counting the new season that's
coming out in two weeks.

So depends on how you're doing the count.

Yes, given all of the above, TRAANSPARENT stands as the show with the
most episodes/seasons.

Well, if you just want to go by episodes, ANNEDROIDS is their longest
running show...but TUMBLELEAF will probably take over next season.

I don't think "Annedroids" is their production - I've always gotten the impression that that's a Canadian show that they picked up...

I can't speak for Ian but the way I read his post, I thought he meant it was
a high-profile show with a lot of buzz because of a built-in fanbase.
Something that would attract people to sign up for the service.

Chance's main pull was Hugh Laurie returning to a series after the long and
successful, House. Bosch had a built in fanbase from the books.

No, I mean "Bosch" is kind of a "gritty" but still "higher-end" type procedural like "Chance".

I wasn't implying that their premises were the same... ;)

I've watched both and lliked them but wasn't sorry to see Chance get
canceled. It's plot twists got more and more ridiculous as it went on. I
thought Ethan Suplee as D came off best.

I agree both shows are gritty but Bosch is a lot more centered around
reality. I'm glad to see that got renewed.

I hear that long residence in the People's Republic of California will
do that to a person. Nancy Pelosi stands out as an example of the
phenomenon taken to its extreme. ;-)

a high-profile show with a lot of buzz because of a built-in fanbase.
Something that would attract people to sign up for the service.
Chance's main pull was Hugh Laurie returning to a series after the long and
successful, House.    Bosch had a built in fanbase from the books.
No, I mean "Bosch" is kind of a "gritty" but still "higher-end" type
procedural like "Chance".
I wasn't implying that their premises were the same...  ;)
So EGK and I were both wrong in our interpretations.... ;-)
Egads, what the fuck kind of procedures does he think the "Chance"
characters were following? My brain hurts just from thinking about it.
It's not our fault you're fucking stupid, Trots...

This series is at the top of the list of why I'd like to get Amazon
Prime - I figure it's their "version" of a show like "Chance"...
I was intrigued by Chance and respected the writers for exploring
something interesting: an educated man being drawn to the Dark Side
despite his intellect. I don't see much similarity to Bosch though.
Bosch is an intelligent man, certainly, but so are lots of people;
he's certainly not a vigilante.
But maybe you didn't mean to make that kind of comparison....
I can't speak for Ian but the way I read his post, I thought he
meant it was a high-profile show with a lot of buzz because of a
built-in fanbase. Something that would attract people to sign up

I can well imagine that's what Ian had in mind but until he confirms
that, I suppose it will remain just an educated guess :-)

Be sure to get a free Preview. Prime is so poorly and infuriatingly
implemented that I only have it because it's free, and almost never use
it.

We still haven't seen last season, been waiting for Man in the High Castle to resub. Anybody know when that will be out???

Good news. I really like this show. One of the most technically and
thematically accurate cop shows on TV.

It's amazing how faithfully they've recreated the Hollywood Division
LAPD station on their soundstage. I've done interviews in that station
many times and it looks *exactly* like the real one. If I didn't know
better, I'd say they shot it in the real station.
