Did anyotherrat catch Farming Today today? I had the radio on but only
tuned in myself when they talked about edges of fields and I think
they said growing potatoes there made magic borders that preserved
nitrogen, stopped erosion and did other magical things.

I'd rather hear about that than get-righ-quick schemes with rotting
food. Is Tom turning into a replacement for Eddy? I think Pip and
Adam should be thinking about the new developments in environmentally
friendly farming, anyway. Apparently there are trials going on in
areas and that works better than little bits of land each doing their
own thing. If they could put their areas together and add Pat and
Tony's area they could emulate the experiments already taking place.

Thank you. I have already bemoaned the absence of farming stories and
can only assume that the new editor is not keen on agriculture but likes
sexual mishaps and Moby Dick. What happened to the beetle banks?

Debbie insisted on them when there was a beetle shortage or some such.
