Did any otherat start watching and had to stop because of the intrusive
and awful background music? I can't remember that being a problem in the
past. What previously caused me to stop watching were the
incomprehensible plots and even less continuity than in TA. There's been
some really good writing over the past few years. I think of 'The Empty
Child' and 'Don't Blink'. It seems those days are long gone.

I haven't watched regularly* since the early days of Matt Smith. There
were so many reasons, not least the totally incomprehensible "plots"
and the Doctor's trousers looking as though he'd appropriated them
from an undernourished 12 yr old.

I did visit the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff last month and was
very happy to see the props and memorabilia from the "good old days".
* I saw the 50th anniversary ep and a few Christmas eps. None of which
did anything to encourage me back to the fold.

We had been recording episodes, then having to dump them from PVR
to DVD, but are about 1.5 seasons behind.

We are not recording this latest season, and I would put money on
the others eventually being scrapped unwatched.

I have neither a TV nor a TV licence and it wouldn't be playing the
game to watch Docteroo. But, having convinced myself that subtitles
are an assistance to the programme and not the programme itself, I
did happen to download the .srt subtitle files (get_iplayer --subsonly
<programme details>) to see what I was missing to which my response
was - not much.

Steven Moffatt is IMO an absolutely brilliant scriptwriter but my
opinion of him as a showrunner is unprintable in umra. I still watch
and enjoy old episodes from time to time and the best ones are almost
always his. A great shame.

I suppose if they continue the serieses for enough years, they may be able
to look into the past to see what the early programmes looked into the then
future to see and do!🤔🤔🤔😳😳😳😉😉😉

We did watch and I thought it ok. I disliked the last companion and
last Dr so these are an improvement. I didn't like some of the last
stories, the tower one was messy, but really hated the last Dr.

Oh well, I am shallow with no standards where film and tv are concerned
and I enjoyed it and will continue to watch it.

I quite enjoyed it too. And if the rumours are correct, I think the next
Dr will be quite good.

I've finally got around to watching and enjoying this series. Can't say I
noticed intrusive background music and I'm usually fairly sensitive to that
sort of thing (recent pointless music on Y&Y and other 'talk' progs on R4
has been annoying me).

I find the new companion's hairline and eyebrows somewhat distracting but
will certainly be watching the rest.
