Post by FutbolmetrixPost by FutbolmetrixIn Paris, FT 2-1. PSG in the driving seat to qualify. Ancelotti will have to prove his worth in Alkamista's den.
It was a good, fast paced game, with Liverpool generating lots of
chances. Napoli got into the game more around 60 mins, realizing
perhaps that as long as they scored one, it didn't matter if Liverpool
did too. Liverpool had lots of very high quality chances (mostly Mané)
that they blew, and were really tempting fate by not putting the game to
bed when they could have. Referee was a bit inconsistent too.

Ouch :-|
Yes, and it would have served Liverpool right if it had gone in.
Post by FutbolmetrixSo, Serie A's dream of qualifying all 4 teams crumbles miserably.
Whereas the EPL got all four through (quite unexpectedly given United's
form and the group Spurs were in), and Spain and Germany managed only 3
each.
Post by FutbolmetrixInter and Napoli will now have the chance to accumulate points in the EL.
Napoli will probably get at least the 5 (bonus) points they missed out
on by not advancing. Inter I would be more surprised by as they need to
focus on the league to make the CL again next year. Juve and Napoli have
a nice cushion to work with.
