(yes, that's the URL,I have no idea how "politics" enter into it)
Bettie Antry (Rutherford) Wilson, born September 13th 1890,died this
morning (February 13th 2006).She was the third-oldest person in the
world with documentary evidence to support her age.
She had been considered the oldest in the USA until Lizzie Bolden
(four weeks older) was authenticated, and Mrs. Bolden had been considered
the oldest in the world from the death of Hendrikje Van Andel last August
until Maria Esther Capovilla of Ecuador (one day less than a year older
than Mrs. Wilson) was authenticated. Both of them are believed to still
be alive.
Her death brings to a close a period in which four of the 20 oldest
documented people were alive simultaneously, the first time this had
happened in years.A recent television story in which she and the
woman right behind her (Susie Gibson, born October 31st 1890) were
both interviewed contrasted their backgrounds...Mrs. Wilson's parents
were born into slavery while Mrs. Gibson's father "just about owned"
the town she grew up in.
Mrs. Wilson's son Willie turns 97 in October, his first birthday
as an orphan.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
