"Thanks to muzzies and their apologist-enablers like puppy whistle, this
seems to be the new norm in the world. It's spreading like a cancer,
and it's time we admit we're at war with pure evil. We need to put an
end to this muzzie plague, or life on Earth is going to become pure hell
everywhere. We need to get these people out of every civilized
country, and there's only one way to do it. IOW, we have to become
like them, with an emphasis on expediency over cruelty." - Checkmate (of alt.checkmate)

"Pussy Willow has just proven that Trump's crackdown on previously

terrorists as needed, but we don't need to be letting the muzzie
terrorists get a foothold in our country too. One need only look at what
they're doing in Europe right now to know we're doing the right thing by
keeping them out, which is our right and our duty. - Checkmate (#1 pussy willow fan)

I just ripped off a few hundred square feet of old siding, cut it into
3' lengths, filled five cans with it and took them down the hill for Dump
Day tomorrow. I may or may not work some more later, but I'm satisfied
with my accomplishments for the day. What did you do, slam some dope and
make a bunch of stupid, retarded posts about nothing? That's what I'd
expect out of a dying junkie loser like you. That's why you have nothing
and are going nowhere.

Hard work for an old guy like me, but I chip away at it a little each
day. As usual, the scope of the project keeps growing. Now I have to
add a bunch of replumbing to the list, a new bathroom door, new
electrical outlets, install a new tub and vanity, plus reframe a shitty
room addition done by the previous owner who totally screwed up
everything he touched. Also, I'm replacing all the windows. I had a new
5' sliding glass door delivered, then discovered it's actually a 6' that
was mislabeled by the factory. I'm waiting for them to straighten that
mess out for me. This is going to take me all Summer, but by doing the
windows myself, I'll save a lot of money on the new siding. I really
shouldn't be doing as much of this myself as I am, but it'll save me a
lot of money.

Sometimes, it seems like it will never end. My middle son is remodeling
his kitchen and adding a pantry. He's also ripped out all the carpets in
the main level of the house and is installing (himself) laminated
flooring. Then they're painting the upstairs bathroom, hallway and
livingroom. It's a big job for sure.

I'm also replacing all my windows. Big job but at least I don't have to
do it myself. (I wouldn't know how to do that anyway.) They have to
come back next week to finish as their distributor sent two windows that
were the wrong size. Sheesh! Annoying as hell.

I suggest you take it easy; well as easy as you can. I'm still working
on my yard but at least I got my vegetable garden in. It's looking
pretty good. I laid lava rock in my rose garden last week and am still
pulling weeds elsewhere. It never ends but at least it's looking pretty
good.

The old siding was ripped from round logs, so they have a flat surface
and a round surface, sort of a log cabin look. I absolutely hated that
stuff. I have most of it off the house now, except for the areas that
will require scaffolding. I've filled eleven large trash cans in the
last two weeks, and probably have at least seven more to go. It comes
off easy with a big pry bar, but then I have to bend all the nails over
so it fits more compactly in the cans, and I have to chop it all up to 3-
4 foot lengths. I've gotten quite a collection of cuts and splinters
from them so far.

That sounds like a lot of work and definitely not fun. I just keep
myself busy with weed pulling and creating lots of piles. I had too many
to put in my trash so I had my grass cutting guys take them to the dump
for me. They were amazed (and so was I) that they had 1000 pounds of
weeds to deliver. Thankfully, the city has contracted (recently) with
the local trash collector to provide yard waste bins. Yay! Now I'll
have somewhere to put all my weeds instead of building berms all around
my place.

really shouldn't be doing as much of this myself as I am, but it'll
save me a lot of money.
I suggest you take it easy; well as easy as you can. I'm still working
on my yard but at least I got my vegetable garden in. It's looking
pretty good. I laid lava rock in my rose garden last week and am still
pulling weeds elsewhere. It never ends but at least it's looking
pretty good.
Yay! Now I'll
have somewhere to put all my weeds instead of building berms all around
my place.
not only do i look after the outside and ,
have some great looking gardens ,
i also manage all the maintenance of the home

how did they invent it? is it some kind of rice product, or what? i remember as a kid learning about people who specialized in carvings on grains of rice, for example, creating a carving of an entire castle on one little sliver. how could they do that?

btw, is there any connection between the cultivation and growth of the many different breeds and strains, and the spread of the legalization of pot, vs. the growing decline in the nutritional content of rice? like stealing from peter to feed paul? probably a hair-brained notion, but i just couldn't help but notice...

the windows myself, I'll save a lot of money on the new siding. I
really shouldn't be doing as much of this myself as I am, but it'll
save me a lot of money.
Yay! Now I'll
have somewhere to put all my weeds instead of building berms all around
my place.
That's a bumper crop of weeds, alright. Why do they always grow better
than the stuff we like?
pot is smart
how did they invent it? is it some kind of rice product, or what? i remember as a kid learning about people who specialized in carvings on grains of rice, for example, creating a carving of an entire castle on one little sliver. how could they do that?
btw, is there any connection between the cultivation and growth of the many different breeds and strains, and the spread of the legalization of pot, vs. the growing decline in the nutritional content of rice? like stealing from peter to feed paul? probably a hair-brained notion, but i just couldn't help but notice...

My Usenet duties done for the morning, I shall continue with my
remodel project.
How is it going?
Hard work for an old guy like me, but I chip away at it a little each
day. As usual, the scope of the project keeps growing.
That IS how projects like that go. :-)
Now I have to
Post by Checkmate
add a bunch of replumbing to the list, a new bathroom door, new
electrical outlets, install a new tub and vanity, plus reframe a
shitty room addition done by the previous owner who totally screwed
up everything he touched.
Sometimes, it seems like it will never end. My middle son is
remodeling his kitchen and adding a pantry. He's also ripped out all
the carpets in the main level of the house and is installing (himself)
laminated flooring. Then they're painting the upstairs bathroom,
hallway and livingroom. It's a big job for sure.
Also, I'm replacing all the windows. I had a
Post by Checkmate
new 5' sliding glass door delivered, then discovered it's actually a
6' that was mislabeled by the factory. I'm waiting for them to
straighten that mess out for me.
I'm also replacing all my windows. Big job but at least I don't have
to do it myself. (I wouldn't know how to do that anyway.) They have

I have absolutely NO idea but it annoys the heck outa me. I have an
obsessions with weeds; see a weed, pull a weed. Although I've begun to
leave a few *pretty* ones (and low growing) as they could be good ground
cover. I have no idea what they are but if I like them, they get to stay.

Hard work for an old guy like me, but I chip away at it a little
each day. As usual, the scope of the project keeps growing.
That IS how projects like that go. :-)
Now I have to
Post by Checkmate
add a bunch of replumbing to the list, a new bathroom door, new
electrical outlets, install a new tub and vanity, plus reframe a
shitty room addition done by the previous owner who totally
screwed up everything he touched.
Sometimes, it seems like it will never end. My middle son is
remodeling his kitchen and adding a pantry. He's also ripped out
all the carpets in the main level of the house and is installing
(himself) laminated flooring. Then they're painting the upstairs
bathroom, hallway and livingroom. It's a big job for sure.
Also, I'm replacing all the windows. I had a

new 5' sliding glass door delivered, then discovered it's actually
a 6' that was mislabeled by the factory. I'm waiting for them to
straighten that mess out for me.
I'm also replacing all my windows. Big job but at least I don't
have to do it myself. (I wouldn't know how to do that anyway.)
They have to come back next week to finish as their distributor sent
two windows that were the wrong size. Sheesh! Annoying as hell.
This is going to take me all Summer, but by doing
Post by Checkmate
the windows myself, I'll save a lot of money on the new siding. I
really shouldn't be doing as much of this myself as I am, but
it'll save me a lot of money.
I suggest you take it easy; well as easy as you can. I'm still
working on my yard but at least I got my vegetable garden in. It's
looking pretty good. I laid lava rock in my rose garden last week
and am still pulling weeds elsewhere. It never ends but at least
it's looking pretty good.
The old siding was ripped from round logs, so they have a flat
surface and a round surface, sort of a log cabin look. I absolutely
hated that stuff. I have most of it off the house now, except for
the areas that will require scaffolding. I've filled eleven large
trash cans in the last two weeks, and probably have at least seven
more to go. It comes off easy with a big pry bar, but then I have to
bend all the nails over so it fits more compactly in the cans, and I
have to chop it all up to 3-
4 foot lengths. I've gotten quite a collection of cuts and splinters
from them so far.
That sounds like a lot of work and definitely not fun. I just keep
myself busy with weed pulling and creating lots of piles. I had too
many to put in my trash so I had my grass cutting guys take them to the
dump for me. They were amazed (and so was I) that they had 1000 pounds
of weeds to deliver. Thankfully, the city has contracted (recently)
with the local trash collector to provide yard waste bins. Yay! Now
I'll have somewhere to put all my weeds instead of building berms all
around my place.
That's a bumper crop of weeds, alright. Why do they always grow better
than the stuff we like?
I have absolutely NO idea but it annoys the heck outa me. I have an
obsessions with weeds; see a weed, pull a weed. Although I've begun to
leave a few *pretty* ones (and low growing) as they could be good ground
cover. I have no idea what they are but if I like them, they get to stay.
They say a weed is a plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered.
no they don't

You never know. You may find something smokable that no one knew about,
but it's amazing that primitive man actually has found remedies for many
conditions that can be produced by plants. It makes me wonder who in the
world ever thought to try them in the first place, as some of them
involve a great many steps to prepare them before they work. Even
aspirin came from someone figuring out that chewing willow bark relieved
headaches. The Indians used the jaws of ants like stitches... they'd
make them bite to join two pieces of flesh, and then break their tiny
little heads off. (I've done essentially the same thing with Super
Glue). I wish I had a good reliable book of field identification of
proven medicinal plants and what they're good for. A lot of what I've
heard appears to be nothing but folklore.

There's a lot of books about that stuff but about half of them are made
up crap written by some new-age loon who doesn't know anything but came
up with the idea that drinking raw garlic and jabaneros peppers
blendered up with <specific brand> olive oil and sun dried lawn weeds
can cure atherosclerosis, dropsy, and loose hair.

Glue).  I wish I had a good reliable book of field identification of
proven medicinal plants and what they're good for.  A lot of what I've
heard appears to be nothing but folklore.
That would be quite a book!

My Usenet duties done for the morning, I shall continue
with my remodel project.
How is it going?
Hard work for an old guy like me, but I chip away at it a
little each day.  As usual, the scope of the project keeps
growing.
That IS how projects like that go.  :-)
Now I have to
Post by Checkmate
add a bunch of replumbing to the list, a new bathroom door,
new electrical outlets, install a new tub and vanity, plus
reframe a shitty room addition done by the previous owner
who totally screwed up everything he touched.
Sometimes, it seems like it will never end.  My middle son is
remodeling his kitchen and adding a pantry.  He's also ripped
out all the carpets in the main level of the house and is
installing (himself) laminated flooring.  Then they're
painting the upstairs bathroom, hallway and livingroom.  It's
a big job for sure.
Also, I'm replacing all the windows.  I had a
Post by Checkmate
new 5' sliding glass door delivered, then discovered it's
actually a 6' that was mislabeled by the factory.  I'm
waiting for them to straighten that mess out for me.
I'm also replacing all my windows.  Big job but at least I
don't have to do it myself.  (I wouldn't know how to do that
anyway.) They have to come back next week to finish as their
distributor sent two windows that were the wrong size.
Sheesh!  Annoying as hell.
This is going to take me all Summer, but by doing
Post by Checkmate
the windows myself, I'll save a lot of money on the new siding.
I really shouldn't be doing as much of this myself as I am,
but it'll save me a lot of money.
I suggest you take it easy; well as easy as you can.  I'm
still working on my yard but at least I got my vegetable
garden in. It's looking pretty good.  I laid lava rock in my
rose garden last week and am still pulling weeds elsewhere.
It never ends but at least it's looking pretty good.
The old siding was ripped from round logs, so they have a flat
surface and a round surface, sort of a log cabin look.  I
absolutely hated that stuff.  I have most of it off the house
now,
except for the areas that will require scaffolding.  I've
filled eleven large trash cans in the last two weeks, and
probably have at least seven more to go.  It comes off easy
with a big pry bar, but then I have to bend all the nails over
so it fits more compactly in the cans, and I have to chop it all up to 3-
4 foot lengths.  I've gotten quite a collection of cuts and
splinters from them so far.
That sounds like a lot of work and definitely not fun.  I just
keep myself busy with weed pulling and creating lots of piles.  I
had too many to put in my trash so I had my grass cutting guys
take them to the dump for me.  They were amazed (and so was I)
that they had 1000 pounds of weeds to deliver.  Thankfully, the
city has contracted (recently) with the local trash collector to
provide yard waste bins.  Yay!  Now I'll have somewhere to put
all my weeds instead of building berms all around my place.
That's a bumper crop of weeds, alright.  Why do they always grow
better than the stuff we like?
I have absolutely NO idea but it annoys the heck outa me.  I have an
obsessions with weeds; see a weed, pull a weed.  Although I've begun
to leave a few *pretty* ones (and low growing) as they could be good
ground cover.  I have no idea what they are but if I like them, they
get to stay.
They say a weed is a plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered.
Heh.  By my keeping some in my garden, perhaps I'll start a new trend.
You never know.  You may find something smokable that no one knew about,
but it's amazing that primitive man actually has found remedies for many
conditions that can be produced by plants.  It makes me wonder who in
the world ever thought to try them in the first place, as some of them
involve a great many steps to prepare them before they work.
Indeed.  I find that amazing as well.  Of course, perhaps *they* just
tried everything and only told others about the ones that worked.
  Even

aspirin came from someone figuring out that chewing willow bark relieved
headaches.  The Indians used the jaws of ants like stitches... they'd
make them bite to join two pieces of flesh, and then break their tiny

I learned my lesson 40 years ago when I thought I would try
for a weed-free perfect lawn. I put some magic weed-killer
on it and, next thing you know, it looked like Viet Nam after
a deluge of Agent Orange.

These days I leave a good section of it unmown until June
and enjoy the meadow flowers that have come in. For the
rest of it, the part that I keep short, I adopt a policy of
anything that's green and doesn't mind being mown can stay.

Life's too short...

England has only one rare kind of venomous snake and they don't
inhabit meadow-land. We do get grass snakes and slow-worms,
but both are non-venomous and actually quite cute.
