"Thomas" credited as writer isn't her

http://youtu.be/z3OieREefWc
Blues artist Curley Page (real name Cleo Page) from Shamrock La (south
of Shreveport) recorded the decent wailer "Boot Hill" in Los Angeles
in 1958. I show it released that year on the tiny Dalton (not to be
confused with the West Coast DOLTON label) in 1958.
The same track seems to have been included in a later (1963 I *think*)
Sutton blues LP compilation "Stormy Monday & Other Blues" headlined by
Jimmy Witherspoon. "Boot Hill" on this issue is credited to one "Sly
Williams" but is identical to the Curley Page above.
Perhaps Diane can shed more light on this one?

It was August 27 1959 when---in an 8 song session---The Spaniels
recorded the Gerald Gregory-led revival of the old "Oklahoma!" show
tune "People Will Say We're In Love". (There's no truth in the rumour
that this one was done only because Gerald forgot the words of "The
Surrey With A Fringe On Top" :)
The group at this time was still Pookie Hudson,Ernest Warren,Donald
Porter,James Cochran---and of course deep voiced Gerald. And the group
was still pacted to Vee Jay

Getting real soulful here with Mr Gene Chandler who made a whole slew
of first rate records like this in his lengthy post-"Duke Of Earl"
career. This Curtis Mayfield-penned 1962 gem for Vee Jay became a hit
all over again three years later in one of the very best live soul
performances ever---"Rainbow '65"
