What is this catastrophe that is the new Bugzilla?

I wanted to file a bug report on the openSUSE Bugzilla. I've done a few
before, and though the system was somewhat clunky and unintuitive, I
could always navigate my way eventually to doing what was needed. Now
I've logged in and tried to click the links to file a new bug, whereupon
I get a heading and text at the top of the resulting page saying:

Bugzilla – Select Classification
Please select the classification.

But then nowhere on the rest of the page do I see anything remotely
related to selecting a classification. Looking for help, I clicked the
link to the 'Bugzilla Upgrade Slidedeck' but decided I didn't want to
wade through a 25-page PDF to learn how to file a two-minute bug report.
The linked Help Page, and the Howto section about filing a report also
bears no relevance to any options I get on the page when I try.

I don't know if something isn't loading correctly or is missing from the
page, or the new design is incredibly obtuse and mystifying. But
consequently I cannot file my bug about a borked 13.2RC1 installation.
Can't wait for the final release, it's going to be... unusable.

The Opensuse you mention is in a totally different box on the page, three major divisions away from
the instruction to enter the classification.
The section you mention is referencing Filters, not classifications.

Its a horrible design, one that I would send my web designer
back to do over, and perhaps back to school, if it was turned in
to me for approval.

Whoever designed this page:
Go home.
Visit your mom.
Show here the page.
Don't offer any help or explanation.
When she gives up in despair, Revise it till she can figure it out.

You seem to be alone in that regard. Why are we having this thread if it is
so self explanatory?

I don't see bunches of people complaining... just some people explaining
things to you :-)

If you want to complain, then do so in the bugzilla classification about
openSUSE, there is an item (component) for "bugzilla" itself.

Well something weird was happening there. Now I think I've got it. I see
the same as you, but I hadn't known you could click on the headings
'All', 'openSUSE' etc. because my cursor wasn't changing to show them as
links. I'd just had VLC Player go funny on me (seems to be a frequent
thing with the current release) and that was making things behave oddly.
I restarted Firefox, logged back into Bugzilla and now I see I can click
on those headings, so I'm progressing with it.

A 'Classification' drop-down box might be better, though.

Given the "Your BU Filter Preference" string in bold, "user" seems more
likely. It is a *user* that more likely takes benefit from a "filter" or a
"preference" than the site.

Nevertheless, the page definitely has room for improvement.

select "new" -> "browse" -> "openSUSE Distribution: openSUSE 13.2:

and you should be able to find your way from there.

ps: I only found it by trial and "many" errors. IMNSHO: "new" should
automagically take one the "browse" page to allow one to make a
"classification" selection. The the word, classification, is a completely
foreign word to be used in this menu, especially since there is no obvious
way to determine the classification on this page.

As per my other post, I got through it eventually. Pretty horrible
design but there goes. Took me two more minutes to figure out how to log

The four main options from the select classification page ought to at
least have bullet points, or icons, or better still radio buttons.
