Bar tender: "Sorry sir, we don't serve viruses."
Covid: "You are not a very good host."

Covid has killed more people than the Holocaust. It is more recent than
the Holocaust. Very few people alive today suffered in the Holocaust.

And yet it is ok to tell jokes about Covid, but not to have told a joke,
23 years ago, about the Holocaust.

Yes, it's strange, isn't it? Do you now what the joke was?

As far as I can tell TV comedy sketch about pitching stupid ideas for a
kids TV show:

----
A: Ok, so Toda-san, the producer, right?

B: Yeah?

A: He's saying "it's ok to do something that's fun to make, but what
about something where you can learn by playing?"

B: Ok...

A: So I was thinking about that, and thinking let's do baseball. Like
it's typical to roll up a newspaper and call it a bat, but it our case,
we can write the word "bat" on it.

B: Ah, I see

A: And it's typical to roll up a piece of paper and call it a ball, but
it our case, we can write the word "ball" on it.

B: Sure!

A: Then, for the fans, we can take paper cut into simple human shapes
and write "people" on them. In other words, how about we create an
entire baseball field made up of words?

B: That sounds good!

A: Shall we try it?

B: Incidentally we've already got a bunch of human-shaped pieces of paper.

A: Oh really?

B: Yeah! (goes offstage and returns, pretending to carry something big
and heavy with him)

A: Ah! From the time we were going to play 'Genocide the Jews'!

B: Yes, yes! Man, Toda-san was really angry that time!

A: "You think we can air that!?" he was saying!

B: Yeah... (sketch continues with them discussing the baseball idea)

Thank you. Not exactly a laugh-out-loud witticism, but not worth making
a fuss about either.
