Christ, are these two the ultimate "Class-of-68ers"?

Their own son lies still warm in a London morgue and this pair of zombies are so inculcated with progressive dogma, they robotically chant the party line to the press, seemingly unaware of the profound irony of their position.

Stockholm Syndrome? Plain simplicity?

It is massively ironic, so much so you might wonder as to the possibility
of its engineering....

I had the same thought, and I am not normally given to conspiracy theories
(except for the moon landing being faked, September 11th being an inside job
and Area 51 housing the bodies of aliens that crash landed in Corona, New
Mexico).

Perhaps they indoctrinated him with ideas that ultimately led to his
death, and are over-compensating?

I just went and looked them up. The father's remarks remind me of the biblical
tale of Abraham and Isaac where Abraham slavishly and without thought offers
his only son as sacrifice upon an altar, so deep is his belief. In this case,
the altar is that of Political Correctness and the sacrifice symbolic as the knife
that dealt the killing blow has been wielded by another agent.

"Jack believed in the inherent goodness of humanity".

That is sadly ironic but not as ironic as "...and where we focus on
rehabilitation not revenge".

I read that the attacker's solicitor complained that he wasn't given access to
the specific deradicalisation programme that he wanted. Perhaps that's what
pissed him off so much. So much for being the "poster boy", "success story"
etc.

Amything, rather than confront the reality that they set him on the path
that led to his death.

Indeed, adhering to those ideas means avoiding confronting the other, unwelcome
idea that he died for nothing.

One might suggest that if he wanted to take a deradicalisation course,
he didn't need it.

Perhaps a good way to get the authorities off your back for a bit while you
plan your next assault.

It is bitterly ironic that they say Jack was totally against the “lock
‘em up for eternity” mentality, and preferred rehabilitation and
forgiveness; well his killer was let out of prison after apparent
rehabilitation and look how that ended up.
