There is a abstract quality to it.
When your mind is messed up. Sometimes it looks a little bit like that.
Now realism is one way to look at things.
But sometimes in the abstract there is more. A way of looking at things that
stands out. But it depends on who is watching.

For "Phenix City," it looks more like 5 sheds in a swamp.

The color and balance are good, although the latter is a little too symmetrical. The clouds and trees are very poorly executed, and the "houses" look like 1-dimensional "fronts" (a la the fake town from "Blazing Saddles").

Again, if this were done by a 10-year old, I would say that he showed a good deal of artistic potential. 52 years of drugs and alcohol later, and his potential is all used up.

That looks like something a teenager with severe depression would paint right before killing himself.
For "Phenix City," it looks more like 5 sheds in a swamp.
The color and balance are good, although the latter is a little too symmetrical. The clouds and trees are very poorly executed, and the "houses" look like 1-dimensional "fronts" (a la the fake town from "Blazing Saddles").
Again, if this were done by a 10-year old, I would say that he showed a good deal of artistic potential. 52 years of drugs and alcohol later, and his potential is all used up.
There is a abstract quality to it.
When your mind is messed up. Sometimes it looks a little bit like that.
Now realism is one way to look at things.
But sometimes in the abstract there is more. A way of looking at things that
stands out. But it depends on who is watching.

For "Phenix City," it looks more like 5 sheds in a swamp.

The color and balance are good, although the latter is a little too symmetrical. The clouds and trees are very poorly executed, and the "houses" look like 1-dimensional "fronts" (a la the fake town from "Blazing Saddles").
Again, if this were done by a 10-year old, I would say that he showed a good deal of artistic potential. 52 years of drugs and alcohol later, and his potential is all used up.
