Post by nospamPost by Jim_HigginsPost by nospamPost by Jim_HigginsAnyone that would pay well North of $1000 is absolutely insane.
that would depend on what features it includes, now wouldn't it??
the *current* iphone 7+ ranges from $769 to $969, depending on capacity
(before taxes and not including a cellphone plan), and it sold *much*
better than apple expected. people *are* buying them.
obviously, lots of people have more money than you do. maybe you should
get a job rather than troll.

Post by Jim_HigginsThe 2017 iPhone Could Cost Upwards of $1,000

'could'. not 'will be'. and again, it depends what the features are.
there will still be an iphone se for $399 (or whatever replaces it) for
those who want cheap.
I have a flip phone (LG) and an iPad Mini 4. My money went into the iPad
but nowhere near what the iPhone 8 is estimated to go for.
not only do you not own an iphone, but you don't own a smartphone of
any kind, not even a cheapo android phone, so you're not in a position
to bitch.
as i said, apple is still going to offer low end iphones for those who
want to spend less. the successors to the se, 7 & 7+ will be at the
same price points, from $399 on up.
if the rumour of an 'iphone x' (and that's all it is right now) turns
out to be true, it will be an *addition* to the lineup at the high end
for those who want it. the other models aren't going anywhere for those
that don't.
last quarter, apple sold nearly a million iphones *per* *day* at prices
approaching $1000 (and that's before the cellular service fees), and if
apple could have kept up with demand, they would have sold quite a bit
more than that.
clearly there are people more than willing to spend a lot on a phone,
which is not surprising because it's used many hours a day.
Why in the world should I buy/own an expensive iPhone when almost
anyplace I go has wifi which the iPad 4 loves. There is no need of
anything more than a flip phone. If I do not have wifi I learned to read
(parochial school) and I have numerous podcasts and a lot of music
(defined as light classical, lyrics that can be understood, Credence
Clearwater Revival, Kingston Trio, Brothers Four, etc., etc.). An
expensive iPhone is conspicuous consumption, soon to belong to the BLM
Enemy. It is superfluous, no point.
