Anyone that would pay well North of $1000 is absolutely insane.
that would depend on what features it includes, now wouldn't it??

the *current* iphone 7+ ranges from $769 to $969, depending on capacity
(before taxes and not including a cellphone plan), and it sold *much*
better than apple expected. people *are* buying them.

obviously, lots of people have more money than you do. maybe you should
get a job rather than troll.

'could'. not 'will be'. and again, it depends what the features are.

there will still be an iphone se for $399 (or whatever replaces it) for
those who want cheap.

Unless those features include a 50% increase in my IQ, astonishing orgasms
and immortality, forget it.

even with a 100% increase, it would still be well below average.

Yawn. Predictable, boring and wrong.

A lot like you, in other words.

And you don't even have the balls to post under your name, or the brains
to make one up.

I have a flip phone (LG) and an iPad Mini 4. My money went into the iPad
but nowhere near what the iPhone 8 is estimated to go for.

not only do you not own an iphone, but you don't own a smartphone of
any kind, not even a cheapo android phone, so you're not in a position
to bitch.

as i said, apple is still going to offer low end iphones for those who
want to spend less. the successors to the se, 7 & 7+ will be at the
same price points, from $399 on up.

if the rumour of an 'iphone x' (and that's all it is right now) turns
out to be true, it will be an *addition* to the lineup at the high end
for those who want it. the other models aren't going anywhere for those
that don't.

last quarter, apple sold nearly a million iphones *per* *day* at prices
approaching $1000 (and that's before the cellular service fees), and if
apple could have kept up with demand, they would have sold quite a bit
more than that.

clearly there are people more than willing to spend a lot on a phone,
which is not surprising because it's used many hours a day.

Why in the world should I buy/own an expensive iPhone when almost
anyplace I go has wifi which the iPad 4 loves. There is no need of
anything more than a flip phone. If I do not have wifi I learned to read
(parochial school) and I have numerous podcasts and a lot of music
(defined as light classical, lyrics that can be understood, Credence
Clearwater Revival, Kingston Trio, Brothers Four, etc., etc.). An
expensive iPhone is conspicuous consumption, soon to belong to the BLM
Enemy. It is superfluous, no point.

because iphones do a lot of things ipads do not, including making and
receiving phone calls and texts without needing third party voip or
messaging apps, can be used for applepay in stores, has a dual-lens
camera on the 7+, can pair with an apple watch and fit in a pants
pocket.

maybe for you, but over 1 billion people disagree.

there's *far* more to an iphone than that.

You shouldn't; it's very obvious you hate Apple since all you post here
are Negative Nancy articles.

You definitely should not. Nobody is saying you should.

That is your opinion which obviously not everybody shares.

I am perfectly happy with my "cheapo" iPhone SE but I won´t troll people
that would like to buy a more expensive one.

Many people don't really need to have mobile phone at all, it's more of
a fashion accessory, tech-toy, or simply keeping-up-with-the-Joneses.

I don't have one and have never had one, because /I/ simply don't need
one. Yes, it could be handy /if/ the car breaks down in the middle of
nowhere (for example), but when that happens the phone will long since
have run out of battery and mobile plan credit, unless you continually
waste money keeping both topped up "just in case".

By the way, $1000 for a top-end Apple iPhone is roughly what it already
is. If you really what to whine about the cost, try the $30,000+
diamond encrusted 24K gold plated ones that some idiots with more money
than sense buy ... only to throw away the following year because
there's a newer model out. :-\

it's useful for far more than that and any cellphone, with or without
service, will call 911, so if all you want is an emergency phone, you
don't actually have to pay *anything*.

He's here to troll, which is plainly evident since all he posts is
negative tripe about Apple.

The Bulletin Board Systems was the route to the internet not taken since
the US decided to donate an archaistic network system (Arpanet) to the
world in order to prevent a truly free meta network from happen:

And it was cute:

Another was the french Minitel and it's siblings:

The Bulletin Board Systems
Duh. I know very well what a BBS is; I ran my own fairly successful BBS
in the 80s and 90s. This thread isn't about BBSs or spamming; it's about
the next iPhone. So someone replying to a post where BBSs and spamming
isn't even mentioned doesn't make any sense. And "People are spamming
bbs?!?" isn't a grammatically valid sentence - hence my response: "speak
English".
