Instead of EVs, solutions that are a much
better fit to our society/economy...
#1. Biofuels.
The ultimate success story is Brazil, but it's
important to remember that they have an
advantageous climate and a ridiculous amount of
arable land yet still biofuels bake up less
than 20% of their transportation fuels... less
than 18%.
#2. Gas.
Meaning, natural gas or even propane. There's
already lots of retail points -- including
countless fueling stations -- that offer
this product, so it would hardly take a large
investment in infrastructure to make them work
for cars.
#3. Animals.
Horses were the mainstay of transportation for
thousands of years. They not only can get the
job done, the have gotten the job done.
#4. Synthetics.
There's coal-to-liquids and bitumen i.e. "Oil
Sands." These are inefficient compared to
traditional oil, as they require a lot of
overhead to turn them into fuel, but they do
fit seamlessly into our existing society.
