A Luddite’s View of OS X High Sierra and iOS 11
I am tired of ongoing “upgrades” that turn into bloatware as the
“upgrade” number keeps creeping up. What I have now in OS X 10.12.6 and
iOS 10.3.3 is far more than I can use, I know what I want to do, read
extensively and use some apps. No games, just basic stuff like weather,
various reference books, videos, podcasts and music. I see NO need to
have to relearn how to do things with ever changing upgrades. I lost
shuffle as a slideshow option in Photos app and have yet to find a
simple slideshow app that will let me import about 1100 scenery photos
of mixed quality but at least 1024x768 as the lowest definition. I’ll
content myself with reading about the kinks in Apple’s latest and
greatest “upgrades” without a trace of regret.

I have quit the “upgrade” treadmill even knowing that this will break
Tim “Me Too” Cook’s heart. I really do miss Steve Jobs.

A 2015 iMac an iPad Mini 4 (128GB) for myself and an iPad Mini 2 (iOS
9.3.5) for my wife. We are satisfied as we are.

Let the flames begin.

They say wankers teeth are so bad *because* they love drinking from their
toilets. Filthy cunt stains.

If it works for what you need to do, there's little need to upgrade ...
"Don't fix what ain't broken".

The problem for many people is that, for example, websites add
unneccessary bloat "features" as well, so eventually Safari (and then
versions of Firefox, etc.) simply won't load the page properly.

There's also the fact that at some point the equipment will die and
you're then forced into getting the brand new device ... which may then
also force you into spending a lot of money in one hit upgrading things
like software, printers, etc.

I kept using an old beige PowerMac G3 and OS 9 for years. I was forced
into upgrading that to Mac OS X 10.1 by a useless ISP who simply
couldn't be bothered fixing issues with their servers!

Unfortunately that G3 died, so I was then forced into getting a new Mac
with the latest toy-infested bloatware and Ive-ruined interface.
