balance to Pats do-gooding tendencies. I am not adverse to doing good but
like everything, there is a dark side. I find Pat and her daughter a
rather self satisfied pair. Not typical but in character.
I doubt Olwenwill be long term but she is pointing up the ambiguity in
their value system.
I am not averse to doing good. That would rule out the initiatives
that mitigate against the horrific effects of many current policies.
But some do-gooding can have adverse effects and make things worse.
I think Pat is doing something useful in helping at the food bank.
They probably need helpers. And since she knew Olwen personally I can
see how she felt she needed to help her, but I don't know how keen i
would have been to invite her home. Didn't she try and get her a room
for the night and Olwen refused? Umbrella...
I really dislike Olwen and feel she has been caricatured in the same
way Lynda often is. I'm with Helen really in wanting her gone. In
another place it was suggested that Olwen just wants attention and
knows Pat will come and look for her and will be easily found.
Possibly her car will have broken down. It was also pointed out for
insurance you need an address, and for getting your pension, but that
can be to a PO.
I am about to go to have lunch with grandson and #2 daughter and we'll
go to granddaughter's birthday party then and see #1 daughter and
other grandson so I am feeling too good-tempered to suggest a
storyline in which Olwen and Will ....................
