What do we think the future of Olwen is in Ambridge. She is trouble and a
balance to Pat’s do-gooding tendencies. I am not adverse to doing good but
like everything, there is a dark side. I find Pat and her daughter a
rather self satisfied pair. Not typical but in character.

I doubt Olwenwill be long term but she is pointing up the ambiguity in
their value system.

I am not averse to doing good. That would rule out the initiatives
that mitigate against the horrific effects of many current policies.
But some do-gooding can have adverse effects and make things worse.

I think Pat is doing something useful in helping at the food bank.
They probably need helpers. And since she knew Olwen personally I can
see how she felt she needed to help her, but I don't know how keen i
would have been to invite her home. Didn't she try and get her a room
for the night and Olwen refused? Umbrella...

I really dislike Olwen and feel she has been caricatured in the same
way Lynda often is. I'm with Helen really in wanting her gone. In
another place it was suggested that Olwen just wants attention and
knows Pat will come and look for her and will be easily found.
Possibly her car will have broken down. It was also pointed out for
insurance you need an address, and for getting your pension, but that
can be to a PO.

I am about to go to have lunch with grandson and #2 daughter and we'll
go to granddaughter's birthday party then and see #1 daughter and
other grandson so I am feeling too good-tempered to suggest a
storyline in which Olwen and Will ....................

Probably as long as Eleanor Bron. Just out of interest, when did we
last hear from Carol, any body?

Thanks CaroleT. Must be getting old - forgetting I'd ask the same
question so recently.

I hate to say it - but Olwen is not needed as the fault line in their
value system was defined by flogging land to the unscrupulous b******
Damara for a few measly earth pounds.

No real organic farmer would do that.

And would not know the value of the land when it was so far from the
village centre that it would never be zoned for housing and will
probably flood as it abuts the river.

But the editor would need to know all this. Olwen is an issues based
presence.

I was wondering whether the Food Programme is planning to do something
on the price of food production and if they will come back to Bridge
Farm, wanting to interview Helen and/or Olwen about it. Of course,
nothing will come of it, so they won't be included in the actual
programme, when it gets broadcast.

What do we think the future of Olwen is in Ambridge.
She'll stick around until Mike wants to make another film?
