Can't get much closer than one point apart in each spot. Jim's record takes the April title with Roger again the runner up. Li'L Millet does not win this without Dennis's first place ranking. Things also may have been different if Geoff was still voting.

If Geoff had voted and had it Five Keys, '5' Royales, Johnny Jones, Li'l Millet we would have had a 4 way tie at 30 points each.

If anyone thinks there's some kind of formula for the winning record, so far the 3 winners are (1) an instrumental by a blues guitarist, (2) a doo wop ballad, and (3) a New Orleans Creole R&B record.

Well there is one general rule. Stay away from white acts!

All 12 records that have made the finals so far were all by black acts. Only one of the 24 records that have made the semi-finals was by a white act - Hepcat Boogie - Fletcher Hanna With Red "Joe" Raynor And His Ozark Playboys

I could have nicked 1st place if I'd voted for my own nomination as
#1. But as usual I voted how I honestly rate each record and therefore
congratulations go to Jim---and to Millet for a fine, fine record!

I voted #1 for "Rich Woman" because of all the records I nominated
that one is one of my very favorites. Initially, I was surprised it
had not been in a previous contest. There were a lot of really good
records in this contest and the ones in the final were top notch and
worthy.

Diane was the last to vote, and if she had ranked Li'l Millet last instead of third, whomever she
ranked first would have at least tied for first (and, of course, if she had ranked Li'l Millet
first, her first choice would have still won).
