[Goanet] RE: NIIT not to be confused with the elite IIT

Dear Umesh,

I am sorry I do not know I can help you. I am neither a politician, nor am I
in the legal profession.

Firstly, I do not know anythig about NIIT (I suppose it stands for National
Institute of Information Technology). What are the success stories from NIIT
that attracted you to that institution and made you select it over graduate
studies in the elite IITs ? Or were you just suckered looking for a path of
least resistance, by an institute whose name rhymed with IIT ?

I am a graduate of IIT Kharagpur and I would like to encourage Goans and
Konkani-speaking people (whether they use the Devnagiri, Roman, or Kannada
script) to get into IIT (Indian Institute of Technology , that is) for
undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate education. Please note that NIIT is
not an elite institution such as the world-famous IITs (Indian Institute of
Technology).

There is considerable preparation required for the highly competitive
IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) - so it is not a path of least resistance such
as that offered by other institutes, some of which you may be familiar with.
Admission for the graduate and postgraduate programs is also a rigorous
process.

Perhaps in Goa we need an Institution like the Bansal Classes of Kota
Rajasthan - I believe this year, nearly 33% of the students who were
selected for IIT through the JEE were from Bansal's classes !

We need more Goans to graduate from IITs for the greater good of our beloved
Goa !!

While I applaud your struggle against illicit trade practices in India, on a
personal note, you may be "peeing in the wind" ..and you know what that can
do to you (its very messy)!! You may want to channel your energies and your
time towards elite institutions such as the IITs.

I agree with the sentiment expressed above.

Instead of getting caught up in Gheraos, Vandalism and Goa Jalaos, Goans
should study hard and achieve their very best.

If that is IIT, so be it

If it is Medicine, Law, IT, Journalism ....the culinary arts, so be it.

Whatever Goans decide to do, they should strive to do the very best.


Eventually, the mark of a person is NOT what degrees he secured and what
school/university he went to, but HOW he utilised the education for the
development of self, others and the society he lived in (He / She).

If education makes us Reasonable individuals who look at events and others
FAIRLY, and in the totality of the circumstances, then we would have
achieved something.

If our education, be it in an elite school or a non elite one, makes us
intolerant and spiteful bigots, I'd think that it is better to a nobody from
a no name Primary School.

I notice that Carmo D'Cruz studied at IIT-Kharagpur. Well done Sir!

But please do not assume that IIT-Kharagpur necessarily guarantees Goan
Individuals who will act in the greater interest of Goa.

I have to double check this BUT - I believe that there is another Goan who
was an IIT-Kharagpur graduate. (I have to double check this)

From what I understand, this IITian has redesigned Panjim to make it look

like Venice.

On the other hand, may be at IIT-Kharagpur, students should be taught the
following

1. The Money you spend on fits of fancy .... is NOT yours

2. Goans are Goans - whether they are Hindus, Catholics or agnostics. At
least in Goa, they need preference for jobs and opportunities

3. Suppressing Press Freedom is something that Salazar and Hitler did. Et tu
Brutus?

4. Those who climb via a coup, Fall via a coup.

5. You may come back via a coup ....but How different a person are you then
(with ALL your alleged elite IIT qualification) that a Alemao or a Mickey ?

I return to the words of Prof ranjan Sardessai of Houston Texas: If we do
NOT stop this nonsense about Hindu Goans and Catholic Goans .......the Goa
we know will be gone for good.

I add to those words: IF the MGP/BJP forces deny job opportunities to Goans
and employ non-Goans instead (especially for electoral reasons) - those
Goans will leave Goa. Guess who will come in to fill that vacuum.

Be advised : these new comers might have NO concept of "harmony" in the
areas they come from. GUESS WHAT is NEXT on the cards!!

FYI my complaint was first published in goasu-raj.org a political party from goa which i presume is for konkani people.

In order to develop Goa we have to first seperate it from India . There are lots of talented people in our konkani community (hindu, christian, Muslim) but we don't have a strong religious political leader who will work for development of Konkani & konkani people.

As such konkani people are slowly adopting other language as their mother tongue.

You want to encourage goans (konkani speaking people) but if konkani language is not there how konkani people will develop.

My dream is to become bal thackray (hitler) of Goa & to close NIIT like Wintech.

We dont need Bal Thackerays in Goa. If you are such a fan of Bal Thackeray,
may be you should stay in Bambay and succeed him in Maharashtra. Maybe you
should lead a movement to promote Marathi in the Roman script - This
movement could be a economic and social boon to Maharashtra - it will
facilitate ease of acceptance and adoption of the Marathi language by
foreign businessmen, investors, tourists and also the worldwide future
generations of the Marathi diaspora. The Roman script is universal - and esp
significant in these days of proliferation of communication via the
internet.
There are a number of Goans in Mumbai and Pune who are already proficient in
the use of the Roman script in Konkani, you could employ all of them as
translators - along with other proficient Marathi-English speakers. The
Bishop of Pune recently endorsed the use of the Roman script fo Konkani -
Now you have to convince the Hindu priests, the Imams and the parish priest
that adopting Marathi in the Roman script along with the Devnagiri script
will greatly increase their following and enhance the weekly collections.

I don't think you should try to solicit Konkani-speaking sympathizers in
your squabble with NIIT - you have to reach out to speakers of all languages
in the Mumbai area.

Once the well-being of the average Maharashtrian is greatly enhanced by such
a movement to promote and popularize Marathi in the Konkani script, then who
knows you may become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra - which Bal Thackeray
never was .!

If we do not have a strong leader - then why dont you step up, show your
testicular virility and take over such a movement ? As I told you earlier,
you may be peeng in the wind in the fight against NIIT - which is Not IIT !!

As such konkani people are slowly adopting other language as their mother
tongue.
You want to encourage goans (konkani speaking people) but if konkani
language is not there how konkani people will develop.

Konkani-speaking people (whether they use the Devnagiri, Roman, or Kannada
script) to get into IIT (Indian Institute of Technology , that is) for
undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate education. Please note that NIIT is
not an elite institution such as the world-famous IITs (Indian Institute of
Technology).
There is considerable preparation required for the highly competitive
IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) - so it is not a path of least resistance
such
as that offered by other institutes, some of which you may be familiar
with.
Admission for the graduate and postgraduate programs is also a rigorous
process.
Perhaps in Goa we need an Institution like the Bansal Classes of Kota
Rajasthan - I believe this year, nearly 33% of the students who were
selected for IIT through the JEE were from Bansal's classes !
We need more Goans to graduate from IITs for the greater good of our

I agree with the sentiment expressed above.

Instead of getting caught up in Gheraos, Vandalism and Goa Jalaos, Goans
should study hard and achieve their very best.

If that is IIT, so be it

If it is Medicine, Law, IT, Journalism ....the culinary arts, so be it.

Whatever Goans decide to do, they should strive to do the very best.


Eventually, the mark of a person is NOT what degrees he secured and what

development of self, others and the society he lived in (He / She).

If education makes us Reasonable individuals who look at events and others

From what I understand, this IITian has redesigned Panjim to make it look

like Venice.

On the other hand, may be at IIT-Kharagpur, students should be taught the

1. The Money you spend on fits of fancy .... is NOT yours

2. Goans are Goans - whether they are Hindus, Catholics or agnostics. At
least in Goa, they need preference for jobs and opportunities

3. Suppressing Press Freedom is something that Salazar and Hitler did. Et tu

4. Those who climb via a coup, Fall via a coup.

5. You may come back via a coup ....but How different a person are you then
(with ALL your alleged elite IIT qualification) that a Alemao or a Mickey ?

I return to the words of Prof ranjan Sardessai of Houston Texas: If we do
NOT stop this nonsense about Hindu Goans and Catholic Goans .......the Goa
we know will be gone for good.

I add to those words: IF the MGP/BJP forces deny job opportunities to Goans

We dont need Bal Thackerays in Goa. If you are such a fan of Bal Thackeray,
may be you should stay in Bambay and succeed him in Maharashtra. Maybe you
should lead a movement to promote Marathi in the Roman script - This
movement could be a economic and social boon to Maharashtra - it will
facilitate ease of acceptance and adoption of the Marathi language by
foreign businessmen, investors, tourists and also the worldwide future
generations of the Marathi diaspora. The Roman script is universal - and esp
significant in these days of proliferation of communication via the
internet.
There are a number of Goans in Mumbai and Pune who are already proficient in
the use of the Roman script in Konkani, you could employ all of them as
translators - along with other proficient Marathi-English speakers. The
Bishop of Pune recently endorsed the use of the Roman script fo Konkani -
Now you have to convince the Hindu priests, the Imams and the parish priest
that adopting Marathi in the Roman script along with the Devnagiri script
will greatly increase their following and enhance the weekly collections.

I don't think you should try to solicit Konkani-speaking sympathizers in
your squabble with NIIT - you have to reach out to speakers of all languages
in the Mumbai area.

FYI my complaint was first published in goasu-raj.org a political party from goa which i presume is for konkani people.

In order to develop Goa we have to first seperate it from India . There are lots of talented people in our konkani community (hindu, christian, Muslim) but we don't have a strong religious political leader who will work for development of Konkani & konkani people.

As such konkani people are slowly adopting other language as their mother tongue.

You want to encourage goans (konkani speaking people) but if konkani language is not there how konkani people will develop.

My dream is to become bal thackray (hitler) of Goa & to close NIIT like Wintech.

as that offered by other institutes, some of which you may be familiar with.
Admission for the graduate and postgraduate programs is also a rigorous
process.

Perhaps in Goa we need an Institution like the Bansal Classes of Kota
Rajasthan - I believe this year, nearly 33% of the students who were
selected for IIT through the JEE were from Bansal's classes !

We need more Goans to graduate from IITs for the greater good of our beloved
Goa !!

While I applaud your struggle against illicit trade practices in India, on a
personal note, you may be "peeing in the wind" ..and you know what that can
do to you (its very messy)!! You may want to channel your energies and your
time towards elite institutions such as the IITs.

We dont need Bal Thackerays in Goa. If you are such a fan of Bal Thackeray,
may be you should stay in Bambay and succeed him in Maharashtra. Maybe you
should lead a movement to promote Marathi in the Roman script - This
movement could be a economic and social boon to Maharashtra - it will
facilitate ease of acceptance and adoption of the Marathi language by
foreign businessmen, investors, tourists and also the worldwide future
generations of the Marathi diaspora. The Roman script is universal - and esp
significant in these days of proliferation of communication via the
internet.
There are a number of Goans in Mumbai and Pune who are already proficient in
the use of the Roman script in Konkani, you could employ all of them as
translators - along with other proficient Marathi-English speakers. The
Bishop of Pune recently endorsed the use of the Roman script fo Konkani -
Now you have to convince the Hindu priests, the Imams and the parish priest
that adopting Marathi in the Roman script along with the Devnagiri script
will greatly increase their following and enhance the weekly collections.

I don't think you should try to solicit Konkani-speaking sympathizers in
your squabble with NIIT - you have to reach out to speakers of all languages
in the Mumbai area.

Once the well-being of the average Maharashtrian is greatly enhanced by such
a movement to promote and popularize Marathi in the Konkani script, then who
knows you may become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra - which Bal Thackeray
never was .!

If we do not have a strong leader - then why dont you step up, show your
testicular virility and take over such a movement ? As I told you earlier,
you may be peeng in the wind in the fight against NIIT - which is Not IIT !!

I agree with the sentiment expressed above.

Instead of getting caught up in Gheraos, Vandalism and Goa Jalaos, Goans
should study hard and achieve their very best.

If that is IIT, so be it

If it is Medicine, Law, IT, Journalism ....the culinary arts, so be it.

Whatever Goans decide to do, they should strive to do the very best.


Eventually, the mark of a person is NOT what degrees he secured and what
school/university he went to, but HOW he utilised the education for the
development of self, others and the society he lived in (He / She).

If education makes us Reasonable individuals who look at events and others
FAIRLY, and in the totality of the circumstances, then we would have
achieved something.

If our education, be it in an elite school or a non elite one, makes us
intolerant and spiteful bigots, I'd think that it is better to a nobody from
a no name Primary School.

I notice that Carmo D'Cruz studied at IIT-Kharagpur. Well done Sir!

But please do not assume that IIT-Kharagpur necessarily guarantees Goan
Individuals who will act in the greater interest of Goa.

I have to double check this BUT - I believe that there is another Goan who
was an IIT-Kharagpur graduate. (I have to double check this)

From what I understand, this IITian has redesigned Panjim to make it look

like Venice.

On the other hand, may be at IIT-Kharagpur, students should be taught the
following

1. The Money you spend on fits of fancy .... is NOT yours

2. Goans are Goans - whether they are Hindus, Catholics or agnostics. At
least in Goa, they need preference for jobs and opportunities

3. Suppressing Press Freedom is something that Salazar and Hitler did. Et tu
Brutus?

4. Those who climb via a coup, Fall via a coup.

5. You may come back via a coup ....but How different a person are you then
(with ALL your alleged elite IIT qualification) that a Alemao or a Mickey ?

I return to the words of Prof ranjan Sardessai of Houston Texas: If we do
NOT stop this nonsense about Hindu Goans and Catholic Goans .......the Goa
we know will be gone for good.

I add to those words: IF the MGP/BJP forces deny job opportunities to Goans
and employ non-Goans instead (especially for electoral reasons) - those
Goans will leave Goa. Guess who will come in to fill that vacuum.

Be advised : these new comers might have NO concept of "harmony" in the
areas they come from. GUESS WHAT is NEXT on the cards!!

Dear Umesh,

I am sorry I do not know I can help you. I am neither a politician, nor am I
in the legal profession.

Firstly, I do not know anythig about NIIT (I suppose it stands for National
Institute of Information Technology). What are the success stories from NIIT
that attracted you to that institution and made you select it over graduate
studies in the elite IITs ? Or were you just suckered looking for a path of
least resistance, by an institute whose name rhymed with IIT ?

I am a graduate of IIT Kharagpur and I would like to encourage Goans and
Konkani-speaking people (whether they use the Devnagiri, Roman, or Kannada
script) to get into IIT (Indian Institute of Technology , that is) for
undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate education. Please note that NIIT is
not an elite institution such as the world-famous IITs (Indian Institute of
Technology).

There is considerable preparation required for the highly competitive
IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) - so it is not a path of least resistance such
as that offered by other institutes, some of which you may be familiar with.
Admission for the graduate and postgraduate programs is also a rigorous
process.

Perhaps in Goa we need an Institution like the Bansal Classes of Kota
Rajasthan - I believe this year, nearly 33% of the students who were
selected for IIT through the JEE were from Bansal's classes !

We need more Goans to graduate from IITs for the greater good of our beloved
Goa !!

While I applaud your struggle against illicit trade practices in India, on a
personal note, you may be "peeing in the wind" ..and you know what that can
do to you (its very messy)!! You may want to channel your energies and your
time towards elite institutions such as the IITs.

I am fighting against NIIT detail of which is given below in my
petition since last 4 to 5 years against their unfair trade practice

I agree with the sentiment expressed above.

Instead of getting caught up in Gheraos, Vandalism and Goa Jalaos, Goans
should study hard and achieve their very best.

If that is IIT, so be it

If it is Medicine, Law, IT, Journalism ....the culinary arts, so be it.

Whatever Goans decide to do, they should strive to do the very best.


Eventually, the mark of a person is NOT what degrees he secured and what
school/university he went to, but HOW he utilised the education for the
development of self, others and the society he lived in (He / She).

If education makes us Reasonable individuals who look at events and others
FAIRLY, and in the totality of the circumstances, then we would have
achieved something.

If our education, be it in an elite school or a non elite one, makes us
intolerant and spiteful bigots, I'd think that it is better to a nobody from
a no name Primary School.

I notice that Carmo D'Cruz studied at IIT-Kharagpur. Well done Sir!

But please do not assume that IIT-Kharagpur necessarily guarantees Goan
Individuals who will act in the greater interest of Goa.

I have to double check this BUT - I believe that there is another Goan who
was an IIT-Kharagpur graduate. (I have to double check this)

From what I understand, this IITian has redesigned Panjim to make it look

like Venice.

On the other hand, may be at IIT-Kharagpur, students should be taught the
following

1. The Money you spend on fits of fancy .... is NOT yours

2. Goans are Goans - whether they are Hindus, Catholics or agnostics. At
least in Goa, they need preference for jobs and opportunities

3. Suppressing Press Freedom is something that Salazar and Hitler did. Et tu
Brutus?

4. Those who climb via a coup, Fall via a coup.

5. You may come back via a coup ....but How different a person are you then
(with ALL your alleged elite IIT qualification) that a Alemao or a Mickey ?

I return to the words of Prof ranjan Sardessai of Houston Texas: If we do
NOT stop this nonsense about Hindu Goans and Catholic Goans .......the Goa
we know will be gone for good.

I add to those words: IF the MGP/BJP forces deny job opportunities to Goans
and employ non-Goans instead (especially for electoral reasons) - those
Goans will leave Goa. Guess who will come in to fill that vacuum.

Be advised : these new comers might have NO concept of "harmony" in the
areas they come from. GUESS WHAT is NEXT on the cards!!

FYI my complaint was first published in goasu-raj.org a political party from goa which i presume is for konkani people.

In order to develop Goa we have to first seperate it from India . There are lots of talented people in our konkani community (hindu, christian, Muslim) but we don't have a strong religious political leader who will work for development of Konkani & konkani people.

As such konkani people are slowly adopting other language as their mother tongue.

You want to encourage goans (konkani speaking people) but if konkani language is not there how konkani people will develop.

My dream is to become bal thackray (hitler) of Goa & to close NIIT like Wintech.

We dont need Bal Thackerays in Goa. If you are such a fan of Bal Thackeray,
may be you should stay in Bambay and succeed him in Maharashtra. Maybe you
should lead a movement to promote Marathi in the Roman script - This
movement could be a economic and social boon to Maharashtra - it will
facilitate ease of acceptance and adoption of the Marathi language by
foreign businessmen, investors, tourists and also the worldwide future
generations of the Marathi diaspora. The Roman script is universal - and esp
significant in these days of proliferation of communication via the
internet.
There are a number of Goans in Mumbai and Pune who are already proficient in
the use of the Roman script in Konkani, you could employ all of them as
translators - along with other proficient Marathi-English speakers. The
Bishop of Pune recently endorsed the use of the Roman script fo Konkani -
Now you have to convince the Hindu priests, the Imams and the parish priest
that adopting Marathi in the Roman script along with the Devnagiri script
will greatly increase their following and enhance the weekly collections.

I don't think you should try to solicit Konkani-speaking sympathizers in
your squabble with NIIT - you have to reach out to speakers of all languages
in the Mumbai area.

Once the well-being of the average Maharashtrian is greatly enhanced by such
a movement to promote and popularize Marathi in the Konkani script, then who
knows you may become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra - which Bal Thackeray
never was .!

If we do not have a strong leader - then why dont you step up, show your
testicular virility and take over such a movement ? As I told you earlier,
you may be peeng in the wind in the fight against NIIT - which is Not IIT !!

I don't think you should try to solicit Konkani-speaking sympathizers in
your squabble with NIIT - you have to reach out to speakers of all languages
in the Mumbai area.

Once the well-being of the average Maharashtrian is greatly enhanced by such
a movement to promote and popularize Marathi in the Konkani script, then who
knows you may become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra - which Bal Thackeray
never was .!

If we do not have a strong leader - then why dont you step up, show your
testicular virility and take over such a movement ? As I told you earlier,
you may be peeng in the wind in the fight against NIIT - which is Not IIT !!

FYI my complaint was first published in goasu-raj.org a political party
from goa which i presume is for konkani people.
In order to develop Goa we have to first seperate it from India . There are
lots of talented people in our konkani community (hindu, christian, Muslim)
but we don't have a strong religious political leader who will work for
development of Konkani & konkani people.
As such konkani people are slowly adopting other language as their mother
tongue.
You want to encourage goans (konkani speaking people) but if konkani
language is not there how konkani people will develop.
My dream is to become bal thackray (hitler) of Goa & to close NIIT like
Wintech.

I am sorry I do not know I can help you. I am neither a politician, nor am
I
in the legal profession.
Firstly, I do not know anythig about NIIT (I suppose it stands for National
Institute of Information Technology). What are the success stories from
NIIT
that attracted you to that institution and made you select it over graduate
studies in the elite IITs ? Or were you just suckered looking for a path of
least resistance, by an institute whose name rhymed with IIT ?
I am a graduate of IIT Kharagpur and I would like to encourage Goans and
Konkani-speaking people (whether they use the Devnagiri, Roman, or Kannada
script) to get into IIT (Indian Institute of Technology , that is) for
undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate education. Please note that NIIT is
not an elite institution such as the world-famous IITs (Indian Institute of
Technology).
There is considerable preparation required for the highly competitive
IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) - so it is not a path of least resistance
such
as that offered by other institutes, some of which you may be familiar
with.
Admission for the graduate and postgraduate programs is also a rigorous
process.
Perhaps in Goa we need an Institution like the Bansal Classes of Kota
Rajasthan - I believe this year, nearly 33% of the students who were
selected for IIT through the JEE were from Bansal's classes !
We need more Goans to graduate from IITs for the greater good of our
beloved
Goa !!
While I applaud your struggle against illicit trade practices in India, on
a
personal note, you may be "peeing in the wind" ..and you know what that can
do to you (its very messy)!! You may want to channel your energies and your
time towards elite institutions such as the IITs.
