Just had csa on the phone sayin my maintenence has gone up due to a
departure put in by my EX and it has gone up just short of double even tho i
told them last Nov that i had a new child and was re-assessed then, my ex is
claimin all sorts that are untrue ref my partners finances, my partner
refuses to tell me her finances as the 2 children by my ex has nothing to do
with her which is in her right, now my ex hasnt declared that HER partner
has moved in or of the £18000 that she had off me in 2004 for the 2 children

Get everything in writing!

Partners finances don't enter into it, nither yours or hers.

Any settlements are nothing to do with CSA and don't enter into it.

They can only charge you based on your income and number of kids and any
arrears, so check their figures, they are most probably wrong!

With arrears they can take 40% of your net.

Do the maths!

By law they can only take 15, 20 or 25% for 1, 2 or3+ kids, if you have
arrears that can go to 40%. of your net take home pay max, if you have other
kids with you that play's it's part too and should reduce this take.

If they are within that boundry they don't have to justify it, that's the
law.

If it's more then they are in error and you need to get it sorted. Talk to
NACSA, write, complain, see your MP.

Partners incomes DO NOT COUNT, there income has nothing to do with you or
CSA

After all of that do the maths again, is it worth working? don't let pride
stand in your way, a lot of guys are 'technically' house husbands and there
wife girlfriends are the bread winner/company owner etc. sometimes you have
to use the system, not fight it if you get my drift. CSA ie government treat
this as a one shoe fits all senario in an effort to rake in cash, not for
kids, not for ex's but for government, almost a hundred million last year,
thats cool poppy to a government fighting in two wars heading for recession
and getting kicked out of office. WE ALL KNOW THAT'S A CROCK OF SHIT, they
are now running three systems so that three shoes that don't fit and inside
each one of those systems are a myriad of ways to reduce payments so 10 guys
in the same circumstances all pay different amounts, its government bullshit
so find a way to 'manage through this government nightmare, use their own
fucking systems to carve out a lifestyle you can live in.

Should I or can I become self employed?
Is immigration a possibility?

Didn't you say on an earlier thread that they would still probably end
up imprisoning you for diversion of funds if you went the self-
employed route? Doesn't that eliminate this is a viable option?

No, they can not do you with 'diversion of funds' for going self employed -
fact

Anyone can go self employed at any time they choose, it's a fundemental
right, its a moral right and it's a human right, the right to eat!
