I think you'll find there is a lot more than three. You only have to
have a beer in Manly to figure that one out.

Manly was one of the few parts, well two, parts of Sydney that I saw
which was actually worth seeing. The botanical gardens was the
other. The Rocks weren't bad but the rest of it was Worthing with
skyscrapers. (I should be able to copyright that soon.)

Bondi beach - what a f*cking disappointment isn't it? It's a beach,
not a particularly big or nice one sorrounded by roach infested
eateries and it has waves. Big deal. They ought to give those Ten
Quid Brits medals for the way they over-hyped that place.

Totally off-topic, but I still feel ripped off going all that way to
spend the best part of two weeks in bloody Worthing.

UD
That you poms live in, or probably caused the infestation of cockroaches at
Bondi. Did you see the piles of baked bean cans or miniature condoms in the
gutters, when you were lying in them ? That tells you the poms were there,
at the "Tail End Gunners Cub"on Campbell Parade.

Too true. During my year in Oz I decided not to go to any cities other
than to pass through. Other than living in Perth, I only spent one night
in Melbourne, which was ok, but from what I hear, you can keep the
rest.... Why go to a city when you can do stuff like swim through a cave
that's under a fossilized coral reef, with added fresh water crocs, in
the middle of the desert? What city can compete with that?
Pfffft....

I take it you work for the propaganda department of the Sydney Tourism
Office then? Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. People will
always think there's something special about places they haven't been
to, and as long as Sydney remains a long way away from anywhere they
will believe.

The thing Australia is worth visiting for is the people. Ruggers,
leaguies and "normal folk" were all very welcoming, and we didn't
experience any of the supposed animosity towards Brits. Until now.

Cheers

Probably, could not be farked looking it up... The difference is all
but one was educated in New Zealand, they pretty much grew up there.
Played high school rugby, under 21's and all.

I remember "looking it up" in the past. At RWC2003 Australia had more
foreign born players than New Zealand did... And in 2005 when Endland
was ripped a new one I looked it up again, to my surprise Endland had
more foreign born players than New Zealand did. Still, it was pretty
funny and I got some good mileage out of it.

Sadly, some people see black fellas and instantly assume import, this
can be considered racist and in some circles. Next week we'll discuss
league imports and the origin of George Gregan coz he is black, please
be on time.

Yeah the one where the All Blacks beat Endland (at FORTRESS
TWICKENHAM) with only 13 men, the All Blacks has two yellow cards and
Endland still threw the ball around waiting for someone with talent to
do something useful.

Some would say it was 16 vs 13 if you count the ref, he clearly has
links to Pakistani match fixing.

Yes, I have a vague recollection with regards a discussion we had
previously concerning Big Willie of rugby league fame. Apparently
there was some point that I had missed in your argument, but you
couldn't be "farked" explaining it. I suspect it was also something
along the lines of his parents being Kiwis, but obviously you must
have done a bit of google research in the meantime and realised that
you were mistaken. Hence your failure to follow up on the debate.
Anyway I'll try and explain it all to you now.

I am a kiwi. I was born here, lived just about all my life here.
However does that make me *more* Kiwi than say someone who was not
born here, but grew up here and spent the majority of their formative
years here? The answer is of course no. Even a person of Asian
heritage not born here, but who grew up in NZ would be fully entitled
to call themselves a Kiwi. They would be culturally a New Zealander.

However someone born in NZ, but who did not grow up in NZ and no
longer even lives there may be able to technically claim citizenship,
but that does not in any way make them a bona fide Kiwi, in my
opinion. Others could disagree, but I would have to question the
diminishment of just what it means to be a Kiwi any contrary opinion
would imply. So the bottom line is this mg, if you were ever to say to
me that that you are a Kiwi, I would dismissively laugh in your face,
and then tell you to PULL THE OTHER ONE, MATEY.

I don't think I have the wrong person. The thread in question was
entitled "Another fool disrespects the haka", if you would like to
refresh your memory. In it I wrote that Big Willie was as much an NZer
as Andrew Mehrtens was a South African. You replied

"Correction, Willie was BORN IN NEW ZEALAND. Andrew was born in South
Africa."

I then asked as to what you meant by the use of capitals, to which you
replied that I had missed the point, but that you couldn't be "farked"

Yes of course, technically you can claim to be an New Zealander. But
if you have barely lived here can you also claim to be culturally a
Kiwi? I don't reckon so, but then as I said previously that is just my
opinion. Others with lower standards may disagree.

as I am also allowed to assume from your insistence that you are
really a Kiwi, despite admitting to have hardly lived here, that
perhaps you are suffering some sort of IDENTITY CRISIS.

Africa."
I don't remember this at all. I was probably drunk and/or trolling.

I then asked as to what you meant by the use of capitals, to which you
replied that I had missed the point, but that you couldn't be "farked"

I am a kiwi. I was born here, lived just about all my life here.
However does that make me *more* Kiwi than say someone who was not
born here, but grew up here and spent the majority of their formative
years here? The answer is of course no. Even a person of Asian
heritage not born here, but who grew up in NZ would be fully entitled
to call themselves a Kiwi. They would be culturally a New Zealander.
Nope, disagree. You are what your passport says you are... and I have
a New Zealand passport.
Yes of course, technically you can claim to be an New Zealander. But
if you have barely lived here can you also claim to be culturally a
Kiwi? I don't reckon so, but then as I said previously that is just my
opinion. Others with lower standards may disagree.
Oh, so it's a culture thing, is it? I don't have enough Kiwi culture?
Actually, I'm not going there... sigh.

amusing.

How? Tahu was born in Aus, and as far as I can tell has lived there
for the most part ever since. You on the other hand may have been born
in NZ, but as you have hardly lived here since I do think it's just a
tad presumptuous of you to think that you can claim to be a Kiwi in
any meaningful sense of the word and expect people to take you at face
value. You are for all intents and purposes an Aussie. If you don't
like that then tough luck. If someone who I knew was to make a similar
claim that they were not really a Kiwi at all, but were of such and
such a nationality, I would be forced to ask them WHAT'S UP YOUR ARSE
MATEY? I would then say to them that if they reckoned they were not
really a Kiwi then they should bugger off to whatever country it is
they reckon they are from. Then to finish up, I might accuse them of
being a bit precious, and also a tosser. YOU PRECIOUS TOSSER, I would

Indeed you are, Green.
And for what it's worth, while both my parents are born and bred Kiwis, from the age of 9 I was
brought up in Swansea then went to Cardiff Uni and moved back to NZ at the age of 24. I still feel
like a New Zealander, not only because I am, but because I want to.

Deprived. You should sue your father for not giving you a proper

It's all very well coming here on missionary work, but being brought up

Tahu is more Aussie than you are a Kiwi.- Hide quoted text -
Can't see how, I was born in NZ, so were my parents. He was born in
Aus, but his parents in NZ. Your logic is flawed, but then I think
we've been here before?
Yes, I have a vague recollection with regards a discussion we had
previously concerning Big Willie of rugby league fame. Apparently
there was some point that I had missed in your argument, but you
couldn't be "farked" explaining it. I suspect it was also something
along the lines of his parents being Kiwis, but obviously you must
have done a bit of google research in the meantime and realised that
you were mistaken. Hence your failure to follow up on the debate.
Anyway I'll try and explain it all to you now.
I am a kiwi.
Of course you are.
