The Defense Dept edited an Obama-era report to downplay the
Pentagon's focus on climate-related threats, The Washington Post
reported Thu.
The report, which details which military outposts are at risk due to
rising sea levels and changing temperatures, used to reference
"climate change" 23 times. Now, the phrase only appears once. Instead,
the document reports that "extreme weather" and "climate" are
responsible for the risks to military bases around the world.
Edits to the report also removed maps that showed which military sites
could be affected by rising sea levels and scrubbed a reference to
melting sea ice in the Arctic. The original document was drafted in
Dec 2016, and explicitly reported that military sites would be
affected by climate change, citing an urgent need to prepare for
global changes.
A Pentagon spokesperson told the Post that the changes to the report
didn't mean the DOD was abandoning efforts to prepare for the impact
of "a wide range of threats, including climate."

Cars have floated down Hobart CBD streets and homes and businesses have been

The State Emergency Service has described it as "an CLIMATE CHANGE event".
It is understood to be only the fifth time since 1893 that the city has

A special delivery from Antarctica has caused chaos across the southeast of
Australia - and the CLIMATE CHANGE is not over yet.
Rain has battered Tasmania while NSW and Victoria have copped snowfalls and
freezing winds, causing havoc for motorists
[In Tas] Mt Wellington received a whopping 233mm since 9am yesterday, the
heaviest falls on record.
Grove received 159mm, while Hobart copped 129mm making it the heaviest May
rain on record.
The state has also been battered by strong winds with Mt Wellington
recording a 131km/h gust.
Victoria braces for wild winds and rain as weather warnings issued for
NSW, ACT and SA

Victoria is being warned to brace for heavy rain and flooding as a low
pressure system approaches the state, while much of south-eastern Australia
is chilled by a cold snap.
New South Wales and the ACT are also beginning to feel the effects of the
complex system, as it brings damaging westerly winds to the NSW ranges and
the Illawarra.
While Melbourne did not experience the same weather extremes seen in parts
of Tasmania, more rain fell in 24 hours than in the entire month of April.

you don't like science a background in any other field should have taught
you that when you want to prosecute an argument it helps to include evidence.
