I notice this very useful FAQ hasn't been updated for a while. This
world is changing, seems to me, some of that change wants to be
reflected and included here in the FAQ.

Addition of a section re Slackware, Volkerding, money and etc, would
be good, too. Can we find or start-up a Slackware forum?

(I think that in today's world, a good Slackware forum would want to
be actively managed, not print all that comes in.)

Have you been to the slackware section of linux questions?

I can't imagine one needing much more.

You're right. Someone else has already pointed out a number of
outdated links within the text of the FAQ and provided links to where
the same information can still be found archived. Updating those
links in the FAQ text is clearly taking longer than it reasonably
should, but it *is* on my todo list.

How much of the world changing, though, is relevant to this FAQ,
which is intended to help answer questions that specifically get
asked here in Alt.OS.Linux.Slackware.

If you have text to propose it would certainly be considered.

Like the one that already exists on Linux Questions?
https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/

Why reinvent the wheel?

I don't understand what you mean here, I'm afraid.

alt.os.linux.slackware? Oh, wait, that's *this* group? What was the
question again?

Well, so far here in aols, we've had very little harassment from
gung-ho advocates of systemd, make-Linux-like-windoes, you *have* to
put MyFavoritePackage in the next release or I'm leaving and other
similar pathologies.

Personally, old geezer that I am, I *like* usenet and archived mailing
lists, dislike web fora. What could your proposed "Slackware forum"
have, other than "active management" that we don't have here?
