I thought that Moon hatching supposed/meant to happen in 2049, so would be history to people of Bowie Base in 2059, even if we SAW Bowie Base on our TVs BEFORE we saw the Moon hatching!

How does that affect the issue of whether or not Bowie Base Commander Brooks in 2059 should have remembered the Great Moon Hatching of 2049, and cited it as inspiration for her space career?

Except, Tim, they happened in two totally different time lines.

Like if you walked down your towns main road and turned left into the
second street .. the third house might have been painted Blue, but if
you had turned left into the third street, the third house might have
been green.

You turned left both times and checked out the third house both times,
but the result was different because something else had changed!!

So did the Doctor travel to a parallel universe?
Or maybe diverging universes, or one universe with a changing timeline.
There are lots of possibilities.

OTOH I disagree with Daniel and think The Waters Of Mars and Kill The
Moon would've taken place in the same timeline. There's nothing to
suggest the timeline changed between them.

Maybe not a good reference, but has anybody seen the "Back to the
Future" trilogy??

Main character goes from the 80's back to the 50's and causes a change
in the timelines, so that when he returns to the 80's, things have
changed drastically, causing him to have to time-travel again to sort
things out.

Same sort of thing continually happening to Dr Who ... except Dr Who
doesn't go back to re-sort out the time-lines!! The Doctor just lets the
(new) timeline continue!

Apart from a couple of "Points fixed in Time", which The Doctor usually
fiddles with in any case, just about ever storyline results in The
Doctor effecting things.

The Other Doctor, where The Doctor helps The Other Doctor to rid 19th
Century London of Cybermen.
The Girl who Died ... when one "Dark Ages" Nordic woman become immortal

Confusion at end: Nightside folks vote to kill Moon
baby, yet Courteny + Clara save it, and Doctor waxes
lyrical about decision.
Still everything is back to normal.
In 2059 (The Waters Of Mars), why didn't Adelaide Brooks wax
lyrical about the Moon hatching and inspiring our return to space?
Those two events occurred in two different timelines, Tim.
Main character goes from the 80's back to the 50's and causes a
change in the timelines, so that when he returns to the 80's, things
have changed drastically, causing him to have to time-travel again to
sort things out.
Same sort of thing continually happening to Dr Who ... except Dr Who
doesn't go back to re-sort out the time-lines!! The Doctor just lets
the (new) timeline continue!
Continually?  My impression is that big changes to the timeline are
the exception not the rule.  Where do you get the idea they happen
continually?
Apart from a couple of "Points fixed in Time", which The Doctor usually
fiddles with in any case, just about ever storyline results in The
Doctor effecting things.
The Other Doctor, where The Doctor helps The Other Doctor to rid 19th
Century London of Cybermen.
But post-19th-century London wasn't controlled by Cybermen whenever
we've seen it. So the Doctor didn't change anything, just did what he'd
always done.

What's that saying about not being able to prove a negative?? In these
cases, it's a case of not being able to show a negative!!

If The Doctor and The Other Doctor hadn't been able to rid London of the

In 2059 (The Waters Of Mars), why didn't Adelaide Brooks wax
lyrical about the Moon hatching and inspiring our return to
space?
Those two events occurred in two different timelines, Tim.
The Butterfly Effect: Every time The Doctor or any other time traveler
lands anywhere it makes subtle changes to the time line.

Confusion at end: Nightside folks vote to kill Moon
baby, yet Courteny + Clara save it, and Doctor waxes
lyrical about decision.
Still everything is back to normal.
In 2059 (The Waters Of Mars), why didn't Adelaide Brooks wax
lyrical about the Moon hatching and inspiring our return to
space?
Those two events occurred in two different timelines, Tim.
The Butterfly Effect: Every time The Doctor or any other time traveler
lands anywhere it makes subtle changes to the time line.
Electing Trump instead of Clinton?
Or Sanders!!

I thought that Moon hatching supposed/meant to happen in 2049, so would be history to people of Bowie Base in 2059, even if we SAW Bowie Base on our TVs BEFORE we saw the Moon hatching!
So will the Bowie One Base explode in new timeline?

I think it's a competition. Yads posts the largest amount of rubbish. Tim posts stuff that's of interest to Tim only.

So modify that to 'Yads and Tim are stupid'.

Except, Tim, they happened in two totally different time lines.
How and why would the Doctor change timelines?
Haven't you realised yet, Tim?? THE DOCTOR *ALWAYS* CHANGES
TIME-LINES!!
Usually only minor changes. Adding in a Moon hatching that inspires
humanity's exploration of space sounds major.
What?? Do you think that (Whoniverse) Man would have not explored Space
if not for The Moon hatching into a space creature?? Really??
The Doctor seemed to think so!
Cranky modd that.

Confusion at end: Nightside folks vote to kill Moon baby, yet Courteny +
Clara save it, and Doctor waxes lyrical about decision.
Still everything is back to normal.
In 2059 (The Waters Of Mars), why didn't Adelaide Brooks wax
lyrical about the Moon hatching and inspiring our return to space?

Those two events occurred in two different timelines, Tim.
I thought that Moon hatching supposed/meant to happen in 2049, so
would be history to people of Bowie Base in 2059, even if we SAW Bowie
Base on our TVs BEFORE we saw the Moon hatching!

Yes. Doctor did timeline change to save Amy. But whom did the Doctor save by altering timeline to hatch the Moon? How did he alter THAT timeline? (The Doctor bugged out of the Moon hatching decision).
