Post by MartinSPost by katPost by Lucretia BorgiaNormality will return in Canada, as far as Corrie is concerned, one
episode per evening with a double on Friday! Hopefully Corrie is
leading the way and total normality will return at some point, hate
these b masks :(
Still plenty of masks around so far.
Dev was breaking the current rules when he wasn't wearing one in his shop!
Adherence to mask-wearing rules is spotty at best on Corrie. It's not
just Dev, it's the same with Jenny in the Rovers, Nina the Goth in Roy's
Rolls and Brian & Cathy (Brathy?) in The Kabin. We see customers don
masks before entering a shop or cafe, but they often take them off once
they're inside. Even at Weatherfield General, the doctor takes her mask
off when she comes in to talk to Leanne and Steve - who were also with
Oliver in the ICU, again without masks! A definite no-no for Canadian
hospitals, shops, etc., where masks are mandatory for all.
It can be more difficult to understand someone when they're wearing a
mask, especially for those hard of hearing, but that's what the
subtitles are for. We always use them.
Maybe we'll see PC Tinker handing Brian a violation notice; I'd love to
see his reaction. BTW, do coppers actually get assigned to police their
own neighbourhood? Craig could end up arresting his own mother!
It was good to see Craig on Monday expressing strong emotions to Daniel,
who is his late cousin'a widower. (Some might call them cousins-in-law.)
Until the last week or so the only odd thing was in the hospital. People have
commented on it.
Staff in shops and restaurants and pubs didn't need to wear them ( though some
did), and, in the last two, nor did customers, who were eating or drinking on
the premises. But you did if you were collecting a takeaway from them.
Example, and this is really quite weird, we were away on holiday ( self
catering) from the 14th to the 21st, and during that time we ate out twice at
the same place, which also did takeaway food and drink. The first time we ate
outside, but had to go inside to order and pay, and to do that had to wear a
mask. The second time we ate inside and didn't have to wear a mask at any time.
The staff didn't either.
Now we have to wear one until sat at the table and the staff do too.
So when the show was filmed they were right, but when it went out - they were wrong!
