miles north of England. She didn't come to America til she was 18.

I was on a bus a couple of months ago with four
seats in the front. Remarkably, all of us, strangers
to each other, in those seats was English. A bit
later I heard another English-sounding accent and
asked if the woman with it was English. She
replied "Scottish" in a tone that suggested she
didn't wish to be thought of as English!

I've been in the USA for 68 of my 73 years,
yet people, even English people, can usually pick
out that I'm English. It rather surprises me
because to me (and to my son) it seems to me
that most of my English accent is gone.

The only reason I like and defend Trump is because -- I'm also descended from a Scot
family. But mine came over about 250 years ago.

Although I was born in England, I'm pretty much
American now though I never have applied for
citizenship. I don't hate Trump as much as many
liberals do though, and unless he screws up much
worse than he's done so far, I expect him to win
a second term.

As I've mentioned before, as a young man -- I really would have liked to have lived in
England. And would have done so if I could have gotten a job. But .. I couldn't.

After living there for two years, my parents and I (about age 10) left in the early
1950s. Funny thing -- just as we were leaving, my uncle (mother's brother) moved his
English wife and her family back to England. (they met during WW2.) They had a son a
little younger than me.

Guess what ? After all these years, their son (my cousin) finally visited us here in
Georgia for a family reunion about 6 or 7 years ago. I really liked him -- and we've
been e-mail friends ever since. (Although born in America of an American father -- he has
never wanted to come live here. Can't blame him)

Funny thing about Trump. I have no use for him. But I had even less use for Hillary
Clinton (or her husband "Slick Willie") So I voted for Trump.

I didn't care for Obama, but most of the recent Democrat nominees would be much more
appealing to me than Trump. Such as Al Gore and John Kerry. (good men) If the
Democrats can't come up with a good candidate by 2020 -- I suppose I will just "not vote".

I don't have any proof, or evidence, of any kind, but based on my
built-in scam- artist antenna, I would guess that Kerry would be more
dishonest than anyone we've had, or almost had, so far.

Here's an encouraging, or semi-encouraging, news clip about Kerry,

There's an article on that page entitled, "John Kerry Goes Rogue Warns
Immigration Has 'Crushed' Europe". So, I just wanted to point out that
Kerry's reservations about immigration, at least in Europe, might be
an encouraging sign.

I agree with that. I like countries having a national
identity, and not throwing that out for the sake of
"globalism". I don't know how well I can defend that
position though. I'm certainly hostile to the idea of a
couple of thousand foreigners walking up to the U.S.
border and expecting to be let in just because that's
in their own interest, with no regard for whether
it's in the interest of the people already here.

They're like some of my kids; If I let them, I think they would keep
borrowing money until I was living under an overpass, and then they
would probably come there to ask me for more. :-) :-) :-)
