Free or bought? Free I'd say FMS and bought I'd say Reflex XTR.

I've seen many people say that the new Phoenix has better physics than
Reflex.

It's made by some team from the UK and costs $100. I've read this review
the other day and it was very positive.

Amazing what info can be gained from this group trextuning was just the type
of site I was looking for to aid the build of my Trex, A bit like the Raptor
technique site is for the Raptor, plus the Phoenix sim looks very
interesting. :-)

Plug in the controller that came with the thing when you bought it...

The controller cable comes with the software, so why not use the one that
came with yours?

I have just got the Phoenix RC and I have to say I'm pleased with it I cant
comment on the physic as I don't know enough, but it feels as good as XTR
and even better on frame rate and sound, I haven't downloaded any updates as
yet, but i can say my XTR will be on eBay asap :-)

I downloaded the demo version of Clearview and tried it out. It
autodetected my Interlink plus controller from Realflight G3.5 and flew
quite well with it.

I believe that Clearview would actually be a pretty good flight sim if used
with a transmitter and USB connector.

If you want a good and inexpensive flight simulator, check out EasyFly 2:

http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/onlineshop/usa/index.php?sid=52846016dfdf7f4a9de8a11439f224aa&cl=details&cnid=&anid=9ab451a4b4396d0f6.78331653

This is a full-featured flight sim from the makers of Aerofly Professional
Deluxe for only $99.99. EasyFly 2 boasts the same graphics and physics as
APD wrapped up in a more economical package.

Thanks everyone for your replies. How important is it to buy a simulator
that has your heli model in it? I am interested in getting a Blade CP Pro
and a lot of simulators don't have that model.

Thanx

Most GOOD sims have something similar to just about any heli, but if they
don't come as standard, there're usually a raft of downloadable heli's from
a variety of websites.

Don't the helis have to be built and downloadable for a specific simulator?
Do the helis fly pretty much the same, or are the sims actually different
for different ones?

Thanx

Well yes. People who own Reflex (as an exaple) will "build" a rendition of
their own model and post it as a useable file somewhere on the web. (usually
linked to the manufacturer of the sim they own).
Post by Lakota
Do the helis fly pretty much the same,
It depends on the sim and on what parameters have been fucked about with by
the sim user, but if the physics of the sims are good/similar, then a
particular heli will fly very similarly no matter which sim.

Sims are getting better at the eye candy AND the physics though, so yer pays
yer money and all that. It's all comong down to cost these days as the top
of the range sims all have their good points and all have their bad points.

Thanks again Beav. So which helis are good substitutes for Blade CP Pro if
the sim doesn't have that model?

RealFlight G3 has a user-created "Blade-Like" that flies pretty close
to a well set up CP...

That's a bit like asking Valentino Rossi which is the best car on the F1
circuit. I've absolutely NO idea, but I'd guess that most of the latest
generation of leccy micro's will be close enough to train the brain muscle.
They may not look like each other, but they have to obey the same rules
(weight/power/thrust/drag) if they're going to fly, so I reckon you've got a
fairly large choice.

SWKB will be along shortly to give you a better idea, I'm sure.
