Yes, and the ratings were slipping then, hence the major shake-up by the BBC which has upset fans who have "hardening of the fandom."

I think if you dropped Hartnell or Capaldi into a Tom Baker story, or a Colin Baker story, you'd notice the difference right away.

Each Doctor has brought their own personality into the character.

No. Genesis of the Daleks was suppoe to a Jon Pertwee story.

Same with Robot.

Genesis may have started with Pertwee in mind, but Tom made it uniquely his.
