Hi Frank,

thanks for the update, I'm liking the property to change the location
of the album property fields! One bug so far. I reported a while back
about my Gnere Children's Music being not displayed. Now it's displayed,
but incorrectly as Children#PH#s Music. Can you fix?

Thanks!

Hi chunky,

Thx. Strange as it is working fine here. Can you mail me the acc.log
file so I can see what setting you've used and try to reproduce it?

I have installed AAC but I get the following message when I click on the
start button:
- Correcting incorrectly marked Various Artist albums
- No albums were found
Then the program stopped and of course no album catalog is created.
Squeezebox Server is installed on a Nas with SSODS.
Moose is working correct.
I am using Squeezebox Server Versie: 7.5.0 - r29584 (MySQL-versie:
5.1.34)

According to your log file you used \\192.168.1.130\music\Music 1 as
physical path which in fact is a UNC path notation. Since you are
running SSODS you will probably have to use a notation like
/usr/home/blabla

Press the TEST button on the remote server option screen and an example
is displayed on the bottom of the ACC window on how the path is stored
in squeezebox server. Use this to help you with the syntax.

Note:
Download v2.0 again as I made a small fix because the example didn't
fit on the window anymore.

Let me know if this is of any help.

Further to the discussion I began about differences in statistics btw
Squeezebox Server and ACC using the previous version. Scanned a smaller
directory:

Server: 230 albums with 4718 songs by 11 artists
ACC v2: Total albums: 250 Total tracks: 4989

this could be due to the directories being used in each case. For
example, I have a muisc directory and an audiobook directory. SBS is
pointing at the Music directory whereas ACC points at the whole drive
and therefore captures the Audiobooks as well. Check the directories
match in SBS and ACC

The album difference probably will be due to albums containing multiple
discs. ACC will treat them as separate albums if the disc number is in
the album name. This in turn results in a higher album count. If the
albums are tagged properly (same album name and the disc tag is used to
identify the discs) then album are grouped correctly by ACC.

Can you confirm that some multidisc albums actually are tagged with
different album names?

Frank,

Thank you for this new version. But (you can always feel the but coming
:)), there seems to be a problem with multi discs sets. Most of them are
handled correctly. But I see also:

1. Several occasions where the cd-headers are wrong. E.g., I have a 11
cd-collection of Shostakovich' symphonies with Haitink. The header
states correctly that this a an 11 cd set. But the first 3 cd's have the
header CD 1. This happens with various others. The bug is always the
same: the first x cd's have as header CD 1 (It's not the tags, because
they display correctly in all other programs and were displayed
correctly in the previous version of ACC.)

2. Some collections are not displayed by CD. This was also correct in
the previous version. In the header the addition 'x CD Set' misses, and
the headers CD 1, CD 2, etc. are missing.

Hi Frank,

any pointers on how to ensure when PDFing a catalogue to ensure each
page contains only whole albums (and there is no albums split between 2
pages).

Cheers

Yes, first narrow the page print margins and if there are still some
page breaks going wrong, play with the print pagination settings in the
advanced ACC option. Start by narrowing down the max tracks on page. The
default settings should be ok for A4 formats and narrowed down margins.

Hi Frank

I set paper to A4, margins to 0 and got rid of the header and footer
and still it was wrong. I'll play with the options. I wondered if large
art broke it

Large art hasn't been my preference so I never played with it for
printing purposes. Normal art size certainly works well in this regard.

I believe 'Maximum album rows per page = 3' should be a good setting
for large art. Did you try that?

The creation of the temporary ACC table has nothing to do with the
print pagination settings as these are applied during the writing of the
catalogs when all database processing has already been done. Probably
something other going wrong here. When you change the value of 4 back is
the problem resolved (I can't imagine).

yep, 5 works :-S

Still playing around and I haven't had the error again. I have tried
big art, small art, big and small font for tracks and no tracks. The
only combo was big art, big font and 4 which caused the issue.

Frank,

I studied the mistakes more carefully (sorry for not doing this first).
The first problem is only there when the disc set contains more than 9
discs. You can see a good example on the attached screen dump. There are
4 discs labeled CD 1. This should be: CD 1, CD 10, CD 11, CD 12.

I'll have a further look at the few sets that are not split in CDs at
all.

A second sorry: I said this worked all right with the previous version,
but that is not true. I just looked at a run I did in the beginning of
december and the same mistakes are there also.

I also isolated the sets that are not split in CDs: these are all albums
with more than one artist (the second is displayed behind each track as
Ft. ...). Attached one example of a 2 CD set.

I have several multi CD albums and their numbering is fine so it maybe
the settings. Can you mail me the acc.log file for starters?

Teus de Jong;5013032. Some collections are not displayed by CD. This was also correct in the previous version. In the header the addition 'x CD Set' misses, and the headers CD 1, CD 2, etc. are missing.

Balloon refers to the balloon tips used by ACC. The balloon tips are
the windows that appear when you hover with your mouse over the blue
question marks.

Balloon tips are programmed in javascript. Since ACC depends on the
Internet Explorer settings it may be due to the fact that you have
configured some javascript restrictions. Does this ring a bell?

Hi, Frank. I definitely have not made any javascript changes - wouldn't
know how even if I wanted to.

I got the same "balloon" error with Windows Vista and IE7 and now with
Windows 7 and IE8. Any ideas on what I could check re: java settings?

Thanks,

Sorry...didn't realize I was the bottleneck...

1. No
2. Yes

Now this may be a wrench, so pardon the long windedness following, but
want to be sure this isn't 'user error'...

I am running SBS on a ReadyNAS Pro. I am running ACC on a Windows XP
with SBS installed, but not running. MySQL ODBC driver installed on XP
machine. Music on NAS mapped as M:\. Running ACC by just pointing at
mapped directories, and 'ignoring' networking setup options in ACC. Can
all this be the root of the headaches I'm causing you??

If you don't have the remote server settings configured, ACC will use
the local installation of SBS. Now SBS may not be running but maybe
MySQL is. ACC will then retrieve the data from the local MySQL database
instead of the remote. Considering the huge differences in both album
and track count this seems very likely.

To determine if this is the case try one of the following:
1. deinstall SBS on the local machine. ACC will not be able to retrieve
any data and hence ACC was using the local DB
2. disable MySQL on the machine where ACC is running. ACC will then not
be able to retrieve data and hence was using the local DB
3. Configure remote server settings in ACC. For this however you first
need to modify the my.tt file on the readynas box to allowe remote
access to the database. I don't know how this must be done on a readynas
box as I don't have one. Maybe others users can help here a this
configuration has been used many times.

An easy solution maybe to enable SBS on the local machine, configure it
to scan drive M: and then run ACC against the local DB (ofcourse don't
configure the remote server settings). As a new scan will get the DB up
to date with the readynas DB I don't think you will see any differences
between ACC en SBS on the readynas anymore.

regards,

Frank

Hi Frank,

Went to the easy solution first, figuring if it works I'm good, no need
for investigation.

New results.

SBS running on local XP accessing ReadyNAS Pro via mapped drive:
Total Tracks: 32,943
Total Albums: 2,592

ACC on same machine accessing mapped drive:
Total albums: 3194 Total tracks: 32005

SBS on ReadyNAS Pro:
2553 albums with 32899 songs by 490 artists

The album total issue is not as big to me as I'm sure it has to do with
the tags on some multiple disc concerts...shouldn't matter on the track
count though so I find it interesting that the two SBS scan figures are
different; subject for another post.

The "balloon" error I get refers to line 23 of the app, which is:

var balloon = new Balloon

Any ideas?

Not really yet as you are the only one reporting this issue so there
must be something unique to your configuration. I'll put it on my bug
list to investigate.

Can you list again:
1. OS version and SP
2. OS language settings
3. Internet Explorer version
4. Installed browser plugins to control scripts (focus is IE, not
Firefox)?
5. AntiVirus/AntiSpam product used?
6. Did you lock down (configure/tighten security) your computer in any
means (like security levels or advanced security settings in IE)?

Did you unzip the contents of the include folder in the zip file (is
there a JS folder within the Include folder)?

I haven't looked deep, but your explanation on the album differences
make sense. I'll mess with an even smaller folder and work on cleaning
up tags (some more), but the track counts should still match, no?

Tracks should indeed be the same. So that is indeed strange. I'm
curious though on your test results with a smaller subset.

Thanks Frank, 2.x has some great improvements. I have another "cosmetic"
suggestion. Would it be possible to either restrict the codec and
bitrate information to the table of content? If not, when selected, can
this information be placed to the right of the Artist and Album names
(headers) in the main body of the Album Catalog?

Thanks...

You can set the position where it should appear in the main interface.
Options are Left, right or on the bottom.

I don't quiet understand what you mean with codec and table of
contents?

I see, I was looking at the "options" interface. Is there a way to get
back to the "main interface" after you enter the options? I could not
find a way to get back to the "main" (start page interface)

What I meant was to restrict the "Display codec information" and "also
display bitrate" options to the content page(s)only.

You are probably using Windows 7? Bill has decided to set the display
to 125% of its normal size causing many application (especially web
based apps) with font sizing issues. I have not found a way yet to
reduce this by code for ACC only and I don't think there is a way to do
this.

If the screen layout does not look like the screenshots on the ACC
download page, position your mouse on the ACC screen, hold CTRL and use
the scroll wheel to reduce Bills magnification factor.

I'll create an automatic popup when Windows 7 is detected with this
message.

About the codec in the table of contents, in my opinion the TOC should
only include main data referred to, not meta data.

The codec info is however included (if selected) in the Quickref
catalog.

Does this address your issues?

Frank

No issues. I edited my post before you answered. The problem before was
between the keyboard and the screen (the end user). I'm happy with the
resulting catalog layout now.

Maybe I spoke too soon... anyway... this is a different "cosmetic"
issue.

I have a couple Spanish albums names that start with either ¡ or ¿.
These exclamation and question marks should be ignored and instead the
first letter of the Album Name should be used to sort them. See
¡Cubanismo! Albums listed under "&" in the picture below.

I use the Genre, Album Artists and Album Name tags to build my folders
structures. All my various artists albums in SC and ACC are displayed as
expected except for "one" album. The relevant album tags for this album
are: Album Artists: Belly Dance (Various Artist), Album Name: The Best
Belly Dance Album in The World... Ever! Vol. 2., the album compilation
flag is also set to 1 and every track has the correct Artist associated
with it. As you can see in the pics below the SC Web UI lists the Album
as expected under the Artist "Belly Dance (Various Artist)", but it
appears that ACC changes the Album Artist tag to "Various Artist". Note
that ACC does not change the album Roots Of Rumba Rock 2 whose Album
Artist tag is displayed correctly as "Zaire Classics (Various Artists)"
and which also has the compilation flag set to 1. I hope, this time, I
explained the problem in a way you can understand.

Interesting issue. Can you mail me a file of an album with this issue?
I will then work towards a resolution. Question though, does SBS ignore
the ¡ and ¿ also and sort on the first letter of the album name?

I don't know if this has been improved in SBS but in the SC days albums
the whole various artist detecting was kind a lousy. For this reason ACC
determines for itself which album is a various artist album and which
not. This works quiet well actually but as you correctly noticed in this
single case not.

I will use the album tags you included to set up a test case in order
to optimize the detection. This will probably be in the weekend though
as sadly the christmas holidays are over. Maybe SBS has an improved
detecting of various artists and can the detection code in ACC be
removed. To be investigated I guess... I'll be back ;-)

Hi Frank, I sent you a sample file. SBS ignores the ¡ and ¿ and sorts
then correctly by the first letter. I only have one artist that starts
with ñ (Ñico Saquito) which SBS sorts after the "Z" under "?", but since
I don't have a full album under this artist (Album Artist tag) ACC does
not have to deal with it.

I understand what you're saying, but ACC sorted other "various" artists
albums with similar characteristics correctly. I also send you a sample
file from the album in question. Yeap, too bad the holidays are over.

Hi Frank, great work,

just testing now the last version, all seems ok after a quick look
apart from the fact that I'd like to use the MHT file to be able to
share the catalog with friends,

but it seems in fact it looks in the Squeezebox Music collection folder
to load the album art & add it on the fly when I open the MHT file,

so It can't be shared, I konw about the Pdf Creator otion to generate a
pdf file but I've been trying it several times with no luck and so much
that it is starting to drive me nut ! ( I tried on XP & 7),
I let the otion to open the pdf at the end of the process, but acrobat
reader tells me there is no file to open, arghh !

in the end it is very frustating because for now I can't share it with
friends or maybe I didn't understand some things ?

btw, Is the MHT file is supposed to be open by anyone, anywhere or only
on the machine where the music collection folder is ?

Hi there,

I asked the same thing of Frank (via email) and was told:

"This is a know Microsoft bug for which there is a hotfix available
from Microsoft. ACC only calls the API to create the .MHT file.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891019

Microsoft has made a fix for it which you should be able to download
through the link on the top.

besides this, there seem to be more problems related to .mht file
usage. See links below

Some related links:
http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-6230-0.html?forumID=101&threadID=213591&start=0

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891020

http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/mht-file-probs-on-different-pcs/151939.html

All links indicate a Microsoft problem with i presume the Cdosys.dll
file.

hope the first knowledge base article is your solution to the problem.

.MHT is nice but only supports internet explorer. Better to use is .PDF
(bullzip)."

I too tried Bullzip and have an issue where no art work >500x500 is
displayed in the PDF >:-C

Did you try Bullzip PDF ?

To create a PDF you have to do the following:
1. Install Bullzip
2. Generate a Catalog with ACC
3. Do a print preview and narrow the margins. Remove the header and
footer that is added by Internet Explorer/Firefox/Other
4. If the page breaks are not at the correct positions (albums break up
in the middle or blank pages are added) you have to adjust the print
pagination settings in the advanced options and repeat steps 2 and 3.
Once figured out the settings are remembered end never to be looked
after again. The default settings are ok for A4 paper size with 'use
large track font' disabled.
5. Finally, Print the catalog and select the Bullzip PDF printer (or
Acrobat printer if you use Adobe Acrobat). A file location for the PDF
will be asked and the PDF is created.
It will not open up automatically as ACC has no knowledge of the
filename you have chosen.

Does this help you?

OK I installed Bullziped, & just finished to try it, the pdf creation
is working, sure, had to
- fight with the margins to avoid a few problems &
- to get rid of an album that is understood as 3 albums in SBS (& even
more in ACC), arhh...the joy of tagging...nevermind will try to retag it
another time.

now it's seems all ok.

Thanx for the help & your work,

I still need to properly tag most of my Mp3 (i've only done 15 or 20 %
so far),

Flac are good : 667 albums in a 68 pages pdf including the toc.

I have had this issue as well. Have you tracked down what is 'faulty'
in the tagging that causes this?

Just a note (maybe it is the clue you're after):
When an album name is used with different cases they are stored with
unique album ID. Example:
Jagged Little Pill
Jagged little Pill
Jagged little pill

are classified by SBS as three different albums. SBS itself has some
logics that upon presentation considers this as a single album. ACC
however will treat these as different albums. In other words, watch for
consistency in case usage.

I personally don't see this as a short comming but handy as it reveals
incosistent tagging.

I agree, not a bad 'tag debugger' but that's not the solution here.

I tried a few things in Mp3tag, like renaming the Album & artists for
all songs, or removing all tags then retag just the artist but it didn't
do anything better after the new collection scan in SBS,

so I let go, so far it's the only album where this problem occurs.

Sometimes a clearing of the library and full rescan is required to
clean up the database. Have you tried that?

I'm wondering if this isn't an SBS issue, as my iPeng shows some albums
without the name, but as a list of

Disc 1
Disc 1
Disc 1,etc.
(All the albums DO have a Disc# tag, but so do the ones that read
fine...)

I will next check to see if it is the same albums that are mulit-listed
in ACC...

...though this still doesn't solve the other problem of ACC missing an
entire album in a directory with 4 in it...

I'm having a problem with the UI in V2.0.3. The initial window
(attached) seems to be a fixed size and it cuts of the bottom of the
form. I have two workarounds: 1. tab to the missing fields and they come
into view as the window then scrolls; or 2. adjust the font size with
Ctrl/-, which makes the bubble help unreadably small. The Options and
Advanced Options screens have the same problem.

I'm running Windows Vista with a 1680x1050 display, IE 8 and Firefox
3.5.7.

The program itself (in the limited use I've given it) seems to work
well and it will be very useful as I finally get my music all uploaded
to the server. Thanks!

I am a new SB Radio user.

Funny as is the previous post I addressed this issue. CTRL - is also a
good tip over the scroll wheel. Vista does not have a default
magnification factor so either you have configured this in Windows or
you have configured a larger than 100% Internet Explorer zoom factor as
default setting?

I'll create a fix to make the window sizable. I'll post it later this
evening.

I've made the default ACC window size somewhat larger and enabled the
resizing of the window.

Fix available by downloading v2.0.4

Let me know if this solves your problem.

Yes, it's much better. I still need to make it a bit wider (so that the
Location drop down occupies only one line and fixes the overwriting of
the author credit) and taller (so that the buttons show). But the
resizing works (on the two option screens also). It looks like some of
the anchor could yet be tweaked, but it's much much easier to use now.

Thanks, Larry

I am trying to run ACC on my system, but I am getting a 3716 connection
error when I press the test button. My particulars are:

- Windows XP SP 3. I have a simple shared network.
- Music folders are on a newly installed ReadyNAS Duo net attached
server.
- Running Squeezebox Server Version: 7.4.1 at 192.168.1.150 (fixed IP
addr)
- I have done the mod on the my.tt file on the server and rebooted the
server.
- I have installed mysql-connector-odbc-5.1.6-win32.msi
- The media share on the server is mapped as drive M:
- Full remote path to music share is M:\Music

Clicking the test button I get 'error connectiong to the database'
number 3716, 'Safety setings on this computer prohibit accessing a data
soruce on another domain.'

Got any ideas to help? Thanks in advance, if you can.

Sounds all good except that the full remote physical path is defined
from the computer where SBS is running so this probably is not on drive
M. Press the test button to get an example of a local path.

The 3716 problem is a Microsoft issue that pops up now and then. On the
ACC homepage there are some tips on how to resolve this. Have you tried
these yet?

I've tried all of the suggested remedies on the homepage, on the Remote
Server Options page, etc. to the best of my ability. The full error
message I now get when I press the Test button is:

"Error connecting to 192.168.1.150
Possible reasons:
- The required mySQL OBCD driver is not installed.
- If you are accessing mySQL on a remote server please make sure remote
access is allowed by the remote server (default - disabled). If you
upgrade Squeezecenter, you mahave to re-enable remote access.
Refer to Help screen for more information.
Error description: [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't connect ot MySQL
server on '192.168.1.150' (10061)"

If anyone can help resolve this error it would be appreciated,
otherwise I'm giving up.

- Thanks for any help, Larry Johnson

I do not know what the initial error message was but and what steps you
have taken but maybe this is of any help:
1. If you use ACC on the same server on which SBS runs do not configure
any remote server settings. ACC works out-of-the-box
2. If you use ACC on another machine than where SB is running do not
try to connect unless you have modified the my.tt file on the SBS server
as a connection would just be refused. Reason is SBS is configured to
not allow access from any other computer than itself.

Have you modified the my.tt file?

That certainly looks good. If you have used the IP number as listed
above in the remote server option screen everything is ok as it is. So,
I can only imagine that there is something on the network level is
blocking the traffic. Do you possibly have a firewall configured? Either
on the PC or on the NAS?

I made some changes which require some testing before release and hope
some of you can do some tests? Therefor this beta is only posted on the
forum.

What to test?
1. Various artist albums should be sorted by Album name
2. Artist names starting with ¡ or ¿ should be sorted by the first char
of the name, not by ¡ or ¿ (Tamanaco ?)

http://acc.vanholt.nl/downloads/acc-v205-beta1.zip

Thx in advance...

Squeezecenter:
63 albums with 721 songs by 1 artist.

ACC:
Total albums: 11 Total tracks: 145

Also, one of the albums shown in the ACC listing is actually in a
different folder than the one listed as 'Starting Folder' or any
sub-folder within that folder, i.e. music scanned should all be within
M:\Dylan, but one album is in M:\Commercial CD's\Grateful Dead

All very confusing...

You appear to use a Starting folder so that would explain that ACC has
a lower count as the starting folder is a filter. The SBS count is an
unfiltered number count.

The starting folder text is used in the query and must appear in every
track path for it to be included. Have you used shortcuts within
folders?

Hi Frank

I've just tried 2.04 and have a few points.

1. Large Cover/Large Font/Display Tracks/ 4 no longer crashes ACC!

2. The title 'Album Catalog Creator' is scrolled in the default window
size of the initial dialogue box (ie it shows 'Album Catalog Creator
Al'.)

3. I still have my 'Children#PH#s Music' issue

4. Have you thought any more about removing the 'Tracks' heading above
track listings?

Cheers

Paul

Great, but there has not been any code change to that respect so
probably was a local issue on your side (lucky for me) ;-) I also
couldn't reproduce the problem.

Working on that and will mail you a link with a version with additional

Not really yet as my focus is on resolving current issues. This is more
of a preferrence thing. You're the second user asking about removal of
the 'Tracks:' line prior to the tracklisting. Not yet a huge number.
Personally, although obvious, I like the 'Tracks:' line. Any other users
who want this removed? Please post a message.

Version 2.0.4 has a modified background included that eliminates this
problem. I can only conclude that you only extracted the .hta file from
the zip file without the include folder?

Changed starting folder to M:\
Results:

ACC: Total albums: 2110 Total tracks: 22487
Created with Album Catalog Creator version 2.0.4

Squeeze: 2561 albums with 32899 songs by 490 artists.

Now here's a question...my M: drive is actually a mapped network drive
- could this be part of my issue?

Thanks for the continued help tracking this down.

Is does not matter whether the M: drive is a local drive or not.

Just to test things, can you set the starting folder to a folder of
which you know the count of the albums yourself? This way it should be
easy to verify the counts.

Hope we get this sorted out.

I used M:\10,000 Maniacs as the starting folder for ACC. This folder
has 4 Albums with 87 Tracks. I also have a folder M:\Commercial\10,000
Maniacs with 3 more albums.

ACC showed 6 Total albums on its scan; the 3 in M:\Commercial\10,000
Maniacs, but only 3 of the 4 in the folder I actually was pointing to.

Not yet but still awaiting your answer if:
1. You have used shortcuts within your directories?
2. You have performed a full DB rescan and checked again on what ACC
reports?

Yes you were right.
For me the path "//192.168.1.130/volume1/music/Music 1" did the trick.

Hi Eyeball,

I have some questions regarding this:
1. When you disable "TPE2 tag is AlbumArtist instead of band", is the
sorting the right?
2. I think this issue is more multi artist related. Can you verify and
confirm that even with the "TPE2 tag is AlbumArtist instead of band"
option enabled, that sorting on ARTISTSORT works fine as long as there
are no multiple artists on the album?

One more observation for you. I'd be interested in what you think. I
have some albums with 2 years in their tags. For example Queen - Queen
II. The original album was 1974 but later there was a US Hollywood
Records Release with some remixes from 1991. I have the later album but
did not want all tracks labelled 1991, so tracks 1-11 are 1974 and 12-14
are 1991. In the QuickRef the album gets labelled 1991. Is it possible
to either get it labelled with the year that most tracks are (ie 1974)
or have both years displayed? Obviously if you start displaying multiple
years then compilations should be excluded as these have the possibility
of having many years (if you date the track not the album as I do)

I understand you don't want duplicate tracks and use this approach to
solve it but I don't think this is a common practice. Officially they
are two albums. So ofcourse ACC could be modified but I would consider
it a workaround.

Actually, I have been reading up some more and apparently people tag
with 'ORIGYEAR' for the original year of recording, and with YEAR for
year of the album. If both were set then I guess it's right to display
YEAR.

Anyway, I understand you not wanting to workaround,

Cheers

Since version 7.4, SBS prefers the ORIGYEAR tag (=TORY/TDOR)
over the YEAR tag (TYER/TDRC).

This means that if you are using the ORIGYEAR tag, in SBS the value of
the ORIGYEAR tag is mapped to all the normal year-fields in SBS !!. AAC
is then also using the ORIGYEAR value.

In my opinion, this a good behaviour.

If however an album has different ORIGYEAR values (for instance in
compilation albums, I set the ORIGYEAR tags of the individual tracks),
AAC will take the ORIGYEAR value of the last track of the album (=
mostly the youngest year).
This is a behaviour many media-players will do.

If you have an "normal" artist with more than one album, AAC sort the
albums by year.

AAC sort the albums of the Various Artists also by year.
I RATHER WOULD LIKE IF AAC COULD SORT THE VARIOUS ARTISTS BY ALBUM
NAME, AS SBS ALSO DOES.

Thanks for all the good work! For me AAC is almost perfect.:)

Never though about it but sounds much more logical. Will implement it.

Thanks for the appreciation !

You have a PM with a link to test the fix for sorting the Various
Artist albums.
Let me know is this is working as it should....

Unfortunately it is working the same as before, nothing changed.

By the way:
AAC counts 1615 albums, 21904 tracks
SBS counts 1615 albums, 21984 tracks
Almost the same :), but a little strange.

Going to test again... Changed the sort order and got the right results
here. Going to send you another version...

And I'll also look at the track count. I don't think you're missing
something though but that its just the counter within ACC. I don't think
you can check which one of the 21984 tracks is missing (just kidding)

For test purposes I have added multiple artists to the ARTISTSORT tag
however when I look in the database the second artist is not included.
For AlbumArtist and Artist however this works as it should. So this
leaves me unable to test your issue.

Two questions:
1. Can you answer the questions in
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=502893&postcount=58
2. Can you mail me an example file with the tagging you used?

Hi everyone - sorry if this has already been answered and I've missed
it.

I have Firefox as the default web browser on my PC, but also have IE8
installed. When I run ACC, the files ACC creates open in Internet
Explorer. If I use Windows Explorer to locate the files they show as
"Firefox files" and a double click will open them in Firefox.

Is there a setting somewhere in the PC that I need to change to make
ACC open the files in Firefox?

I had the same behaviour in the previous version of ACC.

Any help would be appreciated, as I plan to get rid of IE in the near
future. It's far too buggy for my liking.

Regards, Dave

Hi Dave,

ACC is a .HTA application which is executed by the MSHTA.exe process
which is dependent on Internet Explorer components. So I would expect
that if you deinstall or remove IE8, ACC will stop working. Ofcourse you
could always use a sandbox environment (run a virtual machine with IE)
so you can get rid of IE8 on the host.

It is not configurable by the GUI to change which browser will actually
open the generated catalogs. But if you want you can look for the line
below in the code:
'### Open Full catalog and quickref catalog in Internet
Explorer
WshShell.run Chr(34) & "c:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe " & Chr(34) & " " & Chr(34) &
Replace(sTOutputfile,".CAT","") & Chr(34)
WshShell.run Chr(34) & "c:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe " & Chr(34) & " " & Chr(34) & sTOutputfileShort &
Chr(34)

All you'd have to do is change the full path to the browser
executable.

P.S. 'Waihi Beach, New Zealand'.... you must be a very happy man :-)

Regards, Frank

And yes, happy is a good description. I wouldn't want to live anywhere

I'm assuming you're using Windows, so if IE8 is installed correctly you
can try right-clicking the .hta file in File Explorer and select Open
with... and then select IE as the program to open the file.

Thanks for the input. I probably didn't make it clear enough that all
is as I want it when I go to the files with Windows Explorer - a double
click brings them up in Firefox, which is what I want. My goal was to
get ACC to open the files in Firefox when it has finished creating them.
Frank has shown that ACC is pointed towards IE but can be changed.

I'll put it on my to do list to change the default behaviour using
Internet Explorer to using the default configured browser.
