I've never seen this movie, I don't think. Directed by Richard Vadim and
written and produced by Gene Roddenberry, it's a sadomasochistic sex
thriller: Rock Hudson murders lots of teenage girls at a high school.

Overnight Sunday, 1:45 am ET on TCM

A true fan could wank this into the Star Trek universe.

Good point

Maybe that's how Roddenberry wrote it, but Vadim likes sexual sadism.
Skip the sadism, just show the tits.

Are you saying they're funny like clowns? You think they're fucking here

What is interesting was that there were other movies where female school officials had affairs with young male students, no one gave a s--- about them, like "Cathy Lee Crosby" in "Coach" and Caren Kaye in "My Tutor." Most of the young males in the audience no doubt wished it was them.

Mind you that was a about 40 years ago. More recent works are less
likely to take the "gee what a lucky guy" tack.

I knew two high school teachers who married former students 2-3 years
after graduation. One couple split up 8-10 years later, the other
recently celebrated their 45th anniversary. (I remember hearing about
it while at university and my friends and I all thought how fortunate
he was since most of us considered her the prettiest on the
cheerleader squad)

Both teachers were men in their mid to late 20s at that point so
neither was more than 10 years older than their former students.

Wow, Angie Dickenson co-stars, along with Telly Savalas and Roddy McDowall!
I'll write a review tomorrow.
My gawd Angie Dickinson really got to me in this movie. The English
lessons she gave Ponce were wonderful. I wish I had a teacher like her.

In that nightgown, she's all leg. Roger Vadim had an eye.

I know, I know, she'd play Pepper Anderson a couple of years later, but
I can't believe she was born in 1931 and had been acting since the early
'50s.

Rock Hudson is Tiger, the school guidance counselor, football coach, and
genuine American hero. He's married to much younger Barbara Leigh and
has a adorable daughter. Somehow, his wife doesn't notice how many
evening and a few nights he's not home, helping the girls of his high
school pass his personality tests. They just throw themselves at him. He
can't help having sex with them, he's just a man.

Tiger is trying to help Ponce be less shy around women. Ponce has
typical teenage boy hormone problems but Tiger tells Miss Dickenson that
he's impotent. She fixes Ponce right up. It's amazing.

Tiger tests Hilda (Aimee Eccles) while her mother is demanding the
school be closed.

Brenda Sykes is not tested. That would have been too controversial?

Sonny (June Fairchild) breaks into is office and invents the nude selfie
with Polaroid film, well, not the cheesecake shot we actually saw. She
unintentionally records their tryst on a dictating machine. She doesn't
get murdered.

Roddy McDowall is amusing as the put-upon principal, with Bible-thumping
Miss Craymire as the school secretary.

Keenan Wynn is hysterical as the incompetent racist police chief; first
thing he does to investigate the first murder is stop a black student.
Telly Savalas, almost doing Kojak's mannered performance, is the state
police detective assigned to take over. He's really not much help. No
one mentioned James Doohan assisting him, who isn't doing the comic
Scots accent he famously does on Star Trek.

There's a moment at the football game in which two majorettes are
sitting behind Telly Savalas. For a moment, I thought they were going to
draw something on the back of his head.

I found the end abrupt. Ponce finds the evidence Sonny unintentially
created and figures out Tiger killed the girls. Tiger finds him,
confesses as he drives him home and tells him Jill (I think the first
victim) had tried to extort him into leaving his wife. He then takes
a long drive off a short pier... his body isn't found. At the memorial
service, Telly Savalas spots that his widow has airline tickets to
Brazil and decides to follow them. I guess despite all the murders, she
loves him.

After Tiger's "death", Ponce consoles all the girls mourning for Tiger.
Angie Dickenson robs the cradle yet again with a better looking boy.

The Osmonds sing the inappropriate theme song "Chilly Winds".

The "pretty maids" were all gorgeous; the extras too. They were wearing
miniskirts but mostly short dresses. Not a single girl didn't have her
panties exposed at one point. Few wore bras. One extra walked around in
a tiny top with her entire abdomen exposed.

I really should have transferred to this high school when I was a yout'.

They moved TMC to a premier package deal last year, meaning you have to pay

I was having one of my insomniac spells and caught it. I don't think
I've seen it either but I can remember Playboy magazine giving it a lot
of coverage at the time.

BTW what happened to Tiger at the end? I nodded off for a minute or
two, came to and the horny teen was riding down the street over the
credits.

It's (TCM) on my basic expanded tier but I was looking over a Dish
Network flyer I got in the mail, you have to subscribe to their Super

You might be okay if you capitalize the 'b' as in "Black comedy"....

Hey, is it racist yet to refer to TV shows and movies filmed in "black
and white"? If so, I'd be curious to know the "racially sensitive" term
that we're supposed to use instead.

[sigh...] I wish I was retired so I could just spend my time tracking
stuff like this down.
I'm surprised you still have a job. Don't teaching jobs at the college
level absolutely REQUIRE that you be fully "woke"? College seems to be a
place require maximum diversity of staff ethnicities and students but
absolutely NO diversity of opinion at all....

Alert: Gene Roddenberry movie Pretty Maids All In A Row

I've never seen this movie, I don't think. Directed by Richard Vadim and
written and produced by Gene Roddenberry, it's a sadomasochistic sex
thriller: Rock Hudson murders lots of teenage girls at a high school.
Overnight Sunday, 1:45 am ET on TCM
My cable guide describes it as a "black comedy". (That is *racist* now,
right?...)
You might be okay if you capitalize the 'b' as in "Black comedy"....
Hey, is it racist yet to refer to TV shows and movies filmed in "black
and white"? If so, I'd be curious to know the "racially sensitive" term
that we're supposed to use instead.
Monochrome.

You're racist against the Technicolor film process!

I've never seen this movie, I don't think. Directed by Richard Vadim and
written and produced by Gene Roddenberry, it's a sadomasochistic sex
thriller: xxxxxxx murders lots of teenage girls at a high school.
Overnight Sunday, 1:45 am ET on TCM
A true fan could wank this into the Star Trek universe.
Saw it in the theater (probably a drive in) first run. We were desperate for
Roddenberry content in those days.

Lots of beautiful women, like Joanna Cameron (oh Mighty Isis!)

and Joy Bang. Did you know that against all probabilities Joy Bang's real
name is ... Joy Bang?

This sounds like Joe Bob Briggs material.

Good heavens.

I spoke to a librarian at Library of Congress last week who was the only
one working on her floor. Those floors are, what, 50000 square feet?
Horror movie setting. Her name was Jefferson. I should have asked if she
worked in the Jefferson building.

I have this sitting on my DVR. I never heard of it before, but when I
saw Roddenberry's name in the description I had to record it.

Of course this is in the Star Trek universe. It's probably the same
alien from Wolf in the Fold. ;-)

Didn't Roddenberry do crime dramas before
starting the whole Star Trek franchise?

This seems to be up his alley, going
back to his roots.
