Oggi ricevo un commento dall'Editore Gordiano Lupi, dice:
Oggi ho visto, anzi rivisto, La città gioca d'azzardo di Sergio
Martino. Soggetto e sceneggiatura del grande Ernesto Gastaldi. Che
bello!

Released 40 years ago yesterday (in Italy), this is one of my favorite
Giallo films (sexy/trashy Italian thrillers). Starring the luminous
Edwige Fenech, written by superstar-screenwriter Ernesto Gastaldi, and
scored by
the under-appreciated Bruno Nicolai.

Gracias a Fernando Martín Peña y Fabio Manes vi este peliculón escrito
por el gran Ernesto Gastaldi y dirigido por el ídem Duccio Tessari. Y
también volví a ver Tenebre, que sigue siendo tan genial como siempre.

Giallo time again!

The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh/ Lo Strano vizio della signora Wardh.
A classic Giallo made in 1971, it's one of the best Gialli out there.
Great cast: Edwige Fenech, George Hilton, Alberto de Mendoza and the
mighty Ivan Rassimov! Great music by Nora Orlandi and solid direction
by none other than Sergio Martino. Visually stunning scenes involving
Julie Wardh and ex lover Jean.
The plot has some of those typical Ernesto Gastaldi twists.
" Newly married to an older man, Julie returns to Vienna, where a razor
wielding slasher is killing women. Jean, her cruel and sadistic former
lover, immediately contacts her, certain that only he can satisfy her
strange vice. But she rejects him. She also meets George, the handsome
cousin of her friend Carol; both are newly rich, thanks to an uncle's
death. Julie's husband Neil is away frequently, so George pours on the
charm. Meanwhile, it seems that the slasher is now focused on Julie.
Bodies pile up, other murders are barely avoided, and George invites
her to go away with him. Can it end happily?"

Released 40 years ago this month! I will always have fond memories of
having my mind blown by this essential Giallo for the first time, in
the mid nineties, and it remains one of my favorite films. Thank God
for Edwige Fenech, George Hilton, Ernesto Gastaldi, Bruno Nicolai and
Sergio Martino!

Wow, look at this: the original Italian trailer for Riccardo Freda's
THE HORRIBLE DR. HICHCOCK in stunning quality and Technicolor! Freda
threw out a dozen pages of valuable exposition when he ran behind
schedule, but screenwriter Ernesto Gastaldi should still be proud --
it's a glorious thing, one of the most startling operatic highlights of
the Golden Age of Italian Fantasy.

Enjoying "The Grand Duel" this evening which is my favorite of your
westerns. Just hearing the characters speaking their lines is a joy, my
favorite is the lady talking about the rooms. A very unique looking
Italo-Western too, nothing quite like it! and it always reminds me of
an opera. Best cheers always Amigo!! ;]
