65 Sapphire Jubilee

Further than that might be optimistic but one lives in hope.

Frankly, all of these are recent and arbitrary creations,
as they deal with things that have hardly ever been recorded.
"Diamond" has referred to 60th,75th,and 100th anniversaries
(the last apparently for institutions rather than persons).
Sapphire is traditionally a 45th wedding anniversary.
Platinum has no traditional signifier, but modernist "gun-jumpers"
use it for a 20th anniversary, traditionally china (used by
modernists for the 2nd,traditionally cotton)...modernists also
use diamond for 30th (traditionally pearl).

As the Jubilees have taken the same gemstone or precious metal as those allotted to Wedding Anniversaries, I see no problem with carrying over the trend on to those Jubilees which a sovereign has yet to attain. Let us hope our present most gracious sovereign may do so.

As noted, these are recent inventions nonetheless
(and sapphire already HAS a traditional assignment to the 45th).
Oak seems a bit anticlimactic,too!

I'm not sure which occasions might lead to actual jubilee celebrations.
September 2015 is when the Queen would break Queen Victoria's record for
longest British reign, her 70th wedding anniversary in 2017 would likely
be given more celebration than her 65 years on the throne on the past
precedent of years ending in 7,and then we have 2024 (major European
record surpassing Louis XIV of France),2025 (all-European record
surpassing the Grand Duke of Baden in March and first King of Portugal
including his time as an infant Count in September) and 2026 (her 100th
birthday in April, perhaps setting off a celebratory sequence continuing
into the 75th-year jubilee in 2027).

Certainly the Queen is taking more closely after her mother than her
father, whose age at death she surpassed in June 1982 (when the Duke of
Cambridge was about to be born and her reign so far was not yet half over
[the midpoint is now moving through late December 1982]).

The Prince of Wales has his
(sapphire=45th) jubilee of investiture in July 2014
diamond jubilee of proclamation in July 2018
70th birthday in November 2018
golden jubilee of investiture in 2019
75th birthday in 2023
emerald jubilee of investiture in 2024

Will he be Prince of Wales throughout?

If he lives as long as the Duke of Edinburgh has,
he will survive to 2041.
The same age (92 years 5+ months) would take the Duke of Cambridge
to late 2074 and Prince George almost to 2106.

Both Queen and consort have left the previous record ages for such far
behind, apart from the late Queen Mother's age.The Duke can take the QM's
record for time survived since becoming consort if he lives to be 95
(likely itself a commemoration occasion,if not a jubilee).The QM,of
course, was consort for only about one-fourth of that time.

Ah well,I can convey your regrets...

Has the Queen yet visited the apartment she first knew as the home
of Princess Louise Duchess of Argyll(born 1848) since it became the
home of Prince George(born 2013)?

Now that the Duke of Edinburgh has made it 7 months past his 92nd
birthday, matching him would take the Duke of Cambridge until 2075
and Prince George until 2106.

Ditto to the happy memories of the Queen Mother; I adored her. Buy hey QEII is still going in her 90's too. On her 100th they'll have to think up a new Jubilee.

The 75th year of reign (which she would complete at age 100)
has been dubbed "Golden Diamond Jubilee" by some.
The Prince of Wales has his 60th anniversary of proclamation as
Prince of Wales this month, his 70th birthday in November, and his
50th anniversary of formal investiture as PoW next year.
His parents may well help him observe all of them, which could
scarcely have been foreseen at the time!

Afonso Henriques began as infant Count of Portugal in 1112 and was
upgraded to King in 1139,reigning to 1185.

The same kind of people who cooked up "oak" for 80th have apparently
come up with "wine" and "granite" for 85th and 90th but again, the
ascendance in value should be respected rather than arbitrary invention.
