Very tacky of PM. At the very least it was ignorant. Why didn't one of her minions point out the inappropriateness of wearing it...or indeed of owning it? I'm assuming she didn't set out to be offensive, or make a point.

It's Princess Michael. This a woman who got in a public dispute with a group of African-Americans over whether their table was too loud. She recommended someone "go back to the colonies" (they were in New York City at the time), declared them all to be 'rappers' (there were no rappers in the group, but there was a lawyer), etc.

Roughly once a decade I think "she's a bit of a bitch, but the Queen really should give her husband a title because the Princess Michael thing is just cruel," and then something like this happens. The woman's a cliche.

The really good news is that when she is married, Princess Harry will outrank Princess Michael, at least when their husbands are present (I think). I must admit I find the hierarchy of women in the family confusing. If PM really is racist, as you suggest, then she should do what I have already suggested and stick a fork in her eyeball.

Definitely.
My 1990 Dod's Parliamentary Companion table of precedence has
"grandsons of the Sovereign" in fifth position and "Younger Sons
of Dukes of the Blood Royal" in fiftieth position...my 1999 Burke's
names individuals and is more generous, but still has "Prince Harry"
in eleventh and "Prince Michael of Kent" in twenty-seventh position
(leaping him ahead of many officeholders placed ahead of him by Dod).

(It has been tradition that grandsons of the Sovereign all rank after
sons of the Sovereign but Prince William has been placed ahead of the
Queen's younger sons in this reign...not sure if this would extend to
his brother though obviously he would move ahead of his uncles in
the next reign before yielding to his nephew(s) in the following).

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.

Now I'm even more confused Comrade. Seriously, honestly, isn't it all a bit puerile? If they really need to care about precedence amongst themselves, it suggests to me an extraordinary level of insecurity when they should have much more important things to worry about - although I think that Charles, Andrew, Edward and Princess Michael are hugely terrified that their level of self-importance will not be observed. At the same time, I don't think that the Princess Royal, gives a flying fig - unless of course you are the Princess Royal incognito, as I've always suspected.
