I enjoyed the heck out of this performance of the Partita #2 by Argerich from a recent, post Covid performance. Played in a somewhat overly reverberant space, there’s something masterful and colorful about this playing. Inner voices swell from within the textures only to submerge back into the overall texture again. Brilliant spontaneity!

It reminds me that I more often prefer all-around players to specialists.

You have inspired me to check the definition of “persnickety”.
Thanks so much!

It was a simple, honest question. I don't know what you
mean by post Covid. If you think that's persnickety, too bad.

I still don't know what was meant by post covid. Nor do I
understand the relevance of the last phrase (I do understand
its meaning).

I think it's clear that he means 'in the era ov Covid', that is, after
it has struck and we are no longer permitted to gather to listen to
music (or do much of anything else, for that matter--(though by the
grace of Andrew 'Emmy' Cuomo, 6700 people were allowed to attend a
football game yesterday in a stadium designed to hold 72,000).

Well, I guess post-covid could be used to refer to the "era
of covid" or the era after covid has passed. I think most
people would think it should be used for the latter. That's
why I misunderstood. I thought maybe Germany had conquered
Covid. Then I looked at the data. Hardly.

As to why John decided to be persnickety about my question,
I can't guess.

Yeah, I think 'after the virus has changed the world' would be clearer.

Argerich remains just as exciting to listen to as she always was. She's just so musical through and through. A true legend.

I don't think he would use the expression post-War II to
mean the period during which WWII was raging.
