Nope. Chased them onto the neighbors 10 acre property at 11pm blowing
my horn in 4WD bouncing from rut to rut. I have not gotten a thank you
for that yet and am not holding my breath. Hopefully I did not upset
their horses.

You were even beginning to expect a thank-you for blowing your horn at
the edge of their property just after bedtime [Texas being one of those
states where the late-show hosts are done with their monologues by 22:55]?!?

I doubt it's just the /horses/ you were in danger of upsetting--F-series
horns carry!

(Incidentally, my mother is TRYING to remain out of the market for a new
F-150. They're crazy expensive and the only way to get a proper rear
camera is to spring for a crew cab [4 FRONT-OPENING doors] when she was
fine with a club cab [2 front, 2 REAR-opening] until she misjudged the
driveway entrance during our last all-concealing snowstorm and it rolled
in such a way as to render the drivers'=side doors irreparable thanks to
the 40-degree, 7-foot slope away from the driveway on its left side. And
while it's POSSIBLE to get a full bed (an absolute necessity for any
truck) with a crew cab, it's also impossible to fit that monster into
any normal garage, and she doesn't even want to have to drive "a
limousine" out on the public roads anyway!

Not to mention the insane price.)

One of my pet peeves--they treat the long bed standard cab like a poor
relation. Hard to find and when you do find one it's pretty well
stripped.

Because Mom's back is the best out of the whole family and HERS is a
disaster (not to mention, now that there's a breathalyser on Dad's car
which is the only other AWD in the house, so we need the truck for
winter family outings if my sister isn't down here with her Murano), a
standard cab wouldn't be an option even if they weren't all strippers.
The fact that the truck is historically the main method of transport for
our dog also doesn't go towards that particular direction. We really do
need a (less-old-fashioned than standard, but more so than crew) club cab!

But yeah, I think I have plenty of empathy for people whose legs are
short enough, and whose backs can handle a vertical-enough surface, to
be able to make use of a standard cab, as well.

Even the seats lean back in the standard cab F-150 now as the standard
cab was lengthened about 8 inches two decades ago.

80% of the F-150s sold in Texas are 4 door crew cabs with the 5.5 ft
bed. Which, is two feet longer than my 2005 Expedition was. The crew
cab with the 6.5 ft bed is less than 1% of the total.

Mine had a MSRP of 54K. I paid $40K plus TTL.

Just make sure they are cooked clean through ... and having them
spend a few weeks in the deep freeze wouldn't hurt either.
