The first set of questions of many over the coming months I expect!

Hi all,

It's been an eternity since I posted to this group, even though I am now
using MS Mail to post :( Glad to see the group's still here anyway! Is
Fletcher still around? His comments always made me smile!

I've had contact from the CSA recently. They phoned my moby, but I asked
them to communicate in writing, which they did. Anyway, I received 3
different letters in 1 envelope today (31 July 2009). They were sent
recorded delivery. Each and every letter is dated 29 August 2009. Hmmm,
timewarp?

The first letter is grandly entitled in bold with 'Warning of Legal Action'.
It states that I have a child maintenance debt of £1,425.00. This is tosh,
as my calcs put the maximum I could possibly owe at £260. There is no
calculation of how they have arrived at this figure and the letter does not
state the period(s) during which these supposed arrears were accrued. Surely
if they are demanding payment they should be providing me with this
information. Or do I have to request this breakdown? Or do they not have to
provide it at all nowadays? Can someone tell me how I dispute this figure? I
have never had to dispute a demand before, so don't know about such things.
Also, should I demand a breakdown of *their demand*?

The second letter in the envelope states they have been told that my
employment circumstances have changed? That boll*cks too. They have not
changed for 12 months and they knew of the change 12 months ago. As the
letter is 'postdated' 29/08/2009 they have requested details by 09/09/2009.
How long do you get to reply to a change of circumstances letter? Am I to
assume they really mean 09/08/2009? (Which would only give me about 10
days).

The third letter is demanding information about my self-employment. This
piece of info they have right, as I am self-employed. They have requested a
profit and loss account for period 01/07/2008 and 01/08/2009. They then
state that if I do not have this info available yet they will accept
accounts for the period 01/07/2008 and 01/08/2009! (Wasn't this what they
had already just asked for?) They go on to say that, if I was self-employed
for the whole period (01/07/2008 and 01/08/2009) then they require accounts
for the period 01/07/2008 to 29/08/2009! (We are still in July as I write
IIRC!) Again, the letter is dated 29/08/2009. As they want the actual
accounts and not guesstimates, than I fail to see how I can provide a profit
and loss breakdown for the future i.e. up to 29/08/2009.

Again, they request a response by 09/09/2009. So same question as 2
paragraphs above... Am I to assume they really mean 09/08/2009? (Which would
only give me about 10 days).

If they cannot even get simple things like dates correct (across 3 separate
letters), it does not inspire confidence in their demand for £1,425.00
methinks.

Cheers kindly people!

Tone.

Ultimately, you are responsible for their admin errors. It's your fault
they got the dates wrong and equally you are responsible for paying exactly
what they say, when they say and pretty much how they say. My own
experience with them unfortunatley, i'm still waiting for an accounts
breakdown from 2007.

They really are a bunch of losers.

Funny thing this... I just put the numbers through their very own online
calculator (OK, so it's only a guide figure), but that gives me a total of
£275. Quite a long way off of their £1,425!

As their letter writing & fundemental admin skills seem to be non-existent
(historically they have misplaced important communications from me and then
took me to court for failure to provide this information, they lost my
letter demanding they not harass me via phone at work or at home and
continued to do so, they lost several highly detailed complaints made by
myself detailing their absolute incompetence), not to mention their complete
inability to grasp rudimentary mathemetics I think, considering the past
howlers they have made, I may just scan and place the entire current/future
conversation between the CSA and myself on a blog somewhere for the world to
see.

They sure are... However having had calls from them on my birthday (2 years
in a row now [not that I celebrate birthdays mind you]) I now prefer to use
the term 'a bunch of c*nts that I would dearly love to meet in a dark alley
late on a Friday night'. But then they probably say the same about the likes
of you and I! ;)

Accounts breakdown?

Since October 2008 I've recieved 4 breakdowns the last 1 recieved this week
orderd by ICE. Each one of the breakdowns conflict, each one is widely
inaccurate! None off them match??????????
