Ron Owens had someone from one of the major malware providers on his
show today. The guy was talking about how he was now using Ting as a
wireless carrier and how mediocre the coverage was. He must have been
talking about data coverage because I think Ting allows roaming onto
other CDMA networks which should eliminate most of the Sprint voice
coverage issues in remote areas (there are still issues in areas where
Sprint has a network but has poor coverage because the phone's PRL will
prevent use of other CDMA carriers in those areas).
Ting just seems like a really bad deal. When I look at what $30 buys on
Page Plus the same minutes/texts/data on Ting would be about $70. But
you do get LTE data on Ting while on Page Plus you're limited to 3G data.
