They don't change the clocks in West Australia either.

With us being at 50 to 59 degrees North, if we didn't change
the clocks from Summer Time it wouldn't get light in Winter
until after 9am; likewise if we stayed on GMT it would get
light at 4am in Summer.

I think they had Double Summer Time in WWII.

I can feel your pain. I've had tomato plants in the ground now for two

but turned out it the mid ninetys.

I know. I just wanted to say that we set a record. No big deal. Carry on.

Nice here too. Still a bit chilly for outdoor work though. Nothing is
open except grocery stores and pharmacies so I can't go anywhere either.

You two need to get a clue. Things in the USA
WILL start ramping back up around Easter just
as President Trump says. The whole idea of
the shut downs and slow downs we have now
is to flatten the curve from a high steep peak
to a lower flatter but longer hill. In this manner
the overload on the hospitals will mostly be
avoided. You will note that the only real areas
of concern, hospital wise are the cities. Too
many people all crowded together and too few
hospital beds to cover an epidemic.

One good thing about it is these cities are liberal
warrens and a little culling of those communists
will do the country good.

Here's another clue. Sooner or later just about
everybody is going to be exposed to this virus.
In order for this NOT to be the case, effective
vaccines will need to be developed and tested.
By Easter, the exponential rise in cases will be
leveling off. The rural areas will be lightly
affected.

The cities where liberals crowd together in their
stupid "it takes a village" attitude will peak at
much higher rates than the rural areas.

Not so. At some point real soon the exponential
rise will commence leveling out due to the fact
that there's been enough time now in the cities
for it spread to just about everybody. The number
of people carrying it will decrease as they get
sick or not. Remember, not everybody gets real
sick. Most just suffer mild symptoms like they
caught a cold or the flu.

And, like I said, in the rural areas the spread
will not be exponential.

True, we will get past it (well a majority of us will, some won't.) It's
going to get worse before it gets better. Trump is delusional if he
thinks otherwise.(Gee, I hate to see all those christian evangelicals get

One major problem about being isolated at home is that the
Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses know that you're home.
Fortunately, they're easily recognised. If I get a pair of
smartly suited young men come to the door, before they
can open their mouths I ask "Mormons or Witnesses?" They're
usually so taken aback that they just turn tail and go.

Witnesses tend to be a bit more persistent so if they won't
goI ask them if they are among the 144,000 who will be going
to heaven. My favourite aunt was a Witness, so I have a
little insight into how they see things. If they get a bad
response on the doorstep they look on it as "Chastising The
Soul", all the better to fit them for the afterlife.

True. I've heard that lots of the New Your city slickers
left in a hurry and fanned out all over the place but
they mostly end up back in cities. New Orleans has
a real problem because of Mardi Gras where a bunch
of tourist carriers spread it to the locals.

If I see a New Yorker trespassing on my property

Our Governor had to get hard nosed with tourists from the valley (mainly
Portland). They flocked to the coast on the first weekend of Spring
Break. We had NO cases of the virus in our county before that. Who
knows how many of them had it and brought it here. Stupid people!

up around Easter just as President Trump says.
<...>
No way in hell, we will have triple the cases we have now by Easter, so
either get used to everyone having it or STFU about a deadline to
re-open that quick.
Indeed.

What a wonderful compassionate comment.
Galatians 6 King James Version (KJV)

6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering
thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

IOW, as they sow, shall they reap!

isn't it a great day to know that i am here and posting
We've had another beautiful sunny Spring day here.
i did too , reached almost 10C now it's clouding over ,
and she had me moving washers and dryers all day
nice today, cant go anywhere except groceries or doctor.
Nice here too. Still a bit chilly for outdoor work though. Nothing
is open except grocery stores and pharmacies so I can't go anywhere
either.
It's getting a bit boring.
19 days in isolation for me so far, and counting.
It's expected to be three months at least here.
The Donald says we're back in business around Easter over on this side
of the pond. 8^)
Good luck with that...
That won't ever happen, I wish he would just STFU sometimes, even though
I voted for him.
I hear that NPR in Seattle won't be running his virus briefings anymore.

Yeah, and if you believe that do *I* have a bridge to see you. It's
probably contaminated with covid-19 but what the heck.
I understand why he's saying that stuff, to keep

isn't it a great day to know that i am here and posting
We've had another beautiful sunny Spring day here.
i did too , reached almost 10C now it's clouding over ,
and she had me moving washers and dryers all day
nice today, cant go anywhere except groceries or doctor.
Nice here too. Still a bit chilly for outdoor work though.
Nothing is open except grocery stores and pharmacies so I can't go
anywhere either.
It's getting a bit boring.
19 days in isolation for me so far, and counting.
It's expected to be three months at least here.
Well, our *President* believes we will be out of isolation by
Easter. Good luck with that! "Fill those churches" I say and see
what happens.
Pshaw!!!
You have fish glasses on, probaly just like your liberal children.
Please wake up, my friend!
I'm not the one planning to send people back out into the country too
soon.
Careful... she's a bit unstable now because I didn't dutifully answer
every one of her posts. You could get pelted by empty booze bottles.
I'm not concerned. She's far away from me.
Never far enough...
Please stop obsessing over me. I'm not interested.
I've had a boyfriend that is not on the computer, for over 10 years. He's
about as impressed with you as I am, with your posts over the years,
thinking you are a big stud, just like the Gerk.
He is very tall, and huge football legend body. How tall are you,
Checkmate?
You looked very short in Vietnam. Perhaps you were setting down?
Yes, I WAS "short". I ETS'd from 'Nam... flew into Fort Lewis, WA.

I've been self-isolating for 14 days except for one brief foray into the
office on the 16th and a shopping venture on the 14th so it's likely I'm
clean at this point.

Old people shopping is available (nobody under 60 allowed) at the local
grocery stores from 7-9AM when shelves are full and everything has been
scrubbed down - tomorrow project for me. I have the surgical gloves and
I know how to use them.

I haven't downloaded the UK data yet to see what the rate factors are
doing but Italy is doing impressively well beating the daily new case
rate down into the 1.01-1.05 range - very similar to what South Korea
and Taiwan accomplished without the crippling lockdown. The US numbers
have been averaging about 1.35 for the past month with no particular
trend. Maybe Mr. Trump's "vastly increased testing" is finding more
sick people?

One of our biggest supermarket chins has "Oldies Hour"
from 9-10am some days. The trouble is, they opened at
6am and the ravening hordes of Millennials had already
stripped the shelves by 9. Also, they muscled in on the
oldies hour, the greedy bastards; especially since the
idea was to give a little protection from infection to
the most at risk.

Forgive me my lack of sympathy for you and yours. You
are not a good provider, it would seem.

You only have yourself to blame. You should have listened
to Yours Truly. I've been harping on this since January. I
tried to tell everybody it would get real serious real soon.
I sounded the warning bell over and over again. Too few
paid any attention and most of those who did just scoffed.

About the only person similarly intelligent was the Checkmate
and, like me, he got himself prepared while the getting was
easy and still safe. Consequently we are prepared, safe at
home and able to stay that way for a LONG time.

You didn't heed my soothsaying and you didn't get prepared.
So stop your whining. You are reaping as you sowed.

How can I expect a guy "with numbers" do give me data to work with, if I was
President. YOU guys need to quit fucking around. You have lies to the
public for 3 and a half years, then you expect anyone, except libtard to
believe you? You guys started this epidemic, for God's sake, you expect
anyone to believe anyone in education, much less science? Where have you
fuckers been? I blame the left, for non-stop bullshit coverage of Trump for
4 years!

Time to put Gerk in the bozo bin and just move on. He will morph in a
matter of minutes, so you don't have to worry.
