Then when Just Sam is announced as the winner, the family of Arthur Gunn comes running with champagne bottles, jumping up and down, and appearing to be congratulating him. Then Just Sam, who is all by herself, says a few words and then on to the We Are The World performance. Weird. They could have done some digital confetti for her. Something. Anything.

| I just finished watching the show this morning, I thought the same thing about "Poor Gunn" when his family was in full celebration mode when he only made it to the final 2. As soon Ryan said and the winner is "Just Sam" I was "Just Pissed" I shut my TV off so thanks for giving me the play-by-play of what went down after I left, maybe now I'll go back and watch it. Now that she won, it will be VERY interesting to see how she how her life goes now, will she get rid of the BIG ghetto neck tattoo? will she end up in trouble with the law? or does she simply "Just go away" like other A.I. winners that we hardly ever hear about?
Unfortunately, likely the latter. The last Idol winner who has seen any real success
is P2 from S11, but his career hasn't been all that stellar since his coronation
single "Home" faded. When you stop to think about it, how many winners are on the A
or B list now? Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are. Scotty McCreery is doing
well. Fantasia has seen good success, but not so much currently. I still hear
something of Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks and David Cook occasionally, but they are
about C list at best. Some who didn't win are eclipsing many of the winners. Who
knows? That could be a result of this season. Four other finalists had about the
same amount of exposure as Just Sam.
