*Greetings to all Panchamites!*

Was listening to this song ('rimjhim gire sawan' by lata) the other night
when i realised that probably pancham was the only one who has done so many
double version songs. Others might have done so but most of the songs you
could probably think of belongs to pancham. I know most of them were sort of
situational or had different moods (happy, sad etc.) but somehow i get the
feeling that pancham liked doing different versions. These are the few songs
i can recall as of now...
(please correct me if there's something wrong in the list)

- Rimjhim gire sawan (Manzil)
- Tum bin jaoon kahan (Pyar ka mausam)
- Phoolon ka taaron ka (Hare rama hare krishna)
- Humein tumse pyar kitna (Kudrat)
- Kuch na kaho (1942 a love story)
- Yaadon ki baaraat (Yaadon ki baarat)
- Lalla lalla lori (Mukti)
- Chandni re jhoom (Nauker)
- Jidhar dekhoon main (Mahaan)
- Tujhse naaraaz nahin zindagi (Masoom)
- Tere bina jiya jaaye na (Ghar)
- Main pyaasa tum sawan (Faraar)
- Chanda o chanda (Laakhon mein ek)
- Humein aur jeene ki (Agar tum na hote)
- Aur kya ahde wafa (Sunny)
- Jeevan ke din chote sahi (Bade dilwala)
- Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi (Aa gale lag jaa)
- Kitne bhi tu kar le sitam (Sanam teri kasam)
- Jeene de yeh duniya (Lava)

There must be some other scores of this nature. I would request members to
add to this list the songs they can remember.
Also, I would like to invite more knowledgable members in this group to
share their opinion on the same phenomenon.

Thanks & Regards,

*- Pinak*

Okay guys!

The standout version is hamein tumse pyar kitna.

Starkly different compositions.

More I hear sultana version, I like it more than KK one.

*Greetings to all Panchamites! *
Was listening to this song ('rimjhim gire sawan' by lata) the other night
when i realised that probably pancham was the only one who has done so many
double version songs. Others might have done so but most of the songs you
could probably think of belongs to pancham. I know most of them were sort of
situational or had different moods (happy, sad etc.) but somehow i get the
feeling that pancham liked doing different versions. These are the few songs
i can recall as of now...
(please correct me if there's something wrong in the list)
- Rimjhim gire sawan (Manzil)
- Tum bin jaoon kahan (Pyar ka mausam)
- Phoolon ka taaron ka (Hare rama hare krishna)
- Humein tumse pyar kitna (Kudrat)
- Kuch na kaho (1942 a love story)
- Yaadon ki baaraat (Yaadon ki baarat)
- Lalla lalla lori (Mukti)
- Chandni re jhoom (Nauker)
- Jidhar dekhoon main (Mahaan)
- Tujhse naaraaz nahin zindagi (Masoom)
- Tere bina jiya jaaye na (Ghar)
- Main pyaasa tum sawan (Faraar)
- Chanda o chanda (Laakhon mein ek)
- Humein aur jeene ki (Agar tum na hote)
- Aur kya ahde wafa (Sunny)
- Jeevan ke din chote sahi (Bade dilwala)
- Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi (Aa gale lag jaa)
- Kitne bhi tu kar le sitam (Sanam teri kasam)
- Jeene de yeh duniya (Lava)
There must be some other scores of this nature. I would request members to
add to this list the songs they can remember.
Also, I would like to invite more knowledgable members in this group to
share their opinion on the same phenomenon.
Thanks & Regards,

Songs in the list are wonderful BUT ……as Shahi mentioned many times, just making list is not going to contribute anything. If we can discuss which of the two versions is better and why and if there is any difference between the two versions. Such discussions will really be beneficial for weaker students in PANCHAMOLOGY or PANCHAMATICs like me.

I have never heard any other version of "Tere bina Jiya jaaye na- (Ghar)" other than Lata's.
My CD or the LP record of Ghar, none has any double version song. Was it in the movie ? Would have sounded great in KK's voice....
Did I miss anything ???

I have never heard any other version of "Tere bina Jiya jaaye na-
(Ghar)" other than Lata's.
My CD or the LP record of Ghar, none has any double version song. Was it
in the movie ? Would have sounded great in KK's voice....
Did I miss anything ???

*Greetings to all Panchamites! *
Was listening to this song ('rimjhim gire sawan' by lata) the other night
when i realised that probably pancham was the only one who has done so many
double version songs. Others might have done so but most of the songs you
could probably think of belongs to pancham. I know most of them were sort of
situational or had different moods (happy, sad etc.) but somehow i get the
feeling that pancham liked doing different versions. These are the few songs
i can recall as of now...
(please correct me if there's something wrong in the list)
- Rimjhim gire sawan (Manzil)
- Tum bin jaoon kahan (Pyar ka mausam)
- Phoolon ka taaron ka (Hare rama hare krishna)
- Humein tumse pyar kitna (Kudrat)
- Kuch na kaho (1942 a love story)
- Yaadon ki baaraat (Yaadon ki baarat)
- Lalla lalla lori (Mukti)
- Chandni re jhoom (Nauker)
- Jidhar dekhoon main (Mahaan)
- Tujhse naaraaz nahin zindagi (Masoom)
- Tere bina jiya jaaye na (Ghar)
- Main pyaasa tum sawan (Faraar)
- Chanda o chanda (Laakhon mein ek)
- Humein aur jeene ki (Agar tum na hote)

- Jeevan ke din chote sahi (Bade dilwala)

Am left scratching my head in bewilderment. People "begging to differ" that
Faraar is definitely RD and Mukti is not RD! How did Pankaj Mullick come up
with "Dil sajan jalta hai" ?!
much like how OPN came up with "Jaiyo na jaiyo na door", Salil came up with "Mai.n thhak gaya hoo.n" and Naushad dcame up with "Gori ke haath mein, chaabi ka jhalla"..

got that?

god, this is hilarious...this is what happens when one blidnly searches the net without even attemtping to activate the logical sideof one's brain!

Was listening to this song ('rimjhim gire sawan' by lata) the other night
when i realised that probably pancham was the only one who has done so many
double version songs.. Others might have done so but most of the songs you
could probably think of belongs to pancham. I know most of them were sort of
situational or had different moods (happy, sad etc.) but somehow i get the
feeling that pancham liked doing different versions. These are the few songs

"Tere Bina Jiya Jaaye Na" is not a double version song. It is a duet  where Kishore Kumar has sung only at the end of the song picturised in the film while in the soundtrack of HMV (records and cassettes) only the Lata portion was released initially.

Also, I would like to invite more knowledgable members in this group to
share their opinion on the same phenomenon.

Thanks & Regards,

Was listening to this song ('rimjhim gire sawan' by lata) the other night
when i realised that probably pancham was the only one who has done so many
double version songs.. Others might have done so but most of the songs you
could probably think of belongs to pancham. I know most of them were sort
of
situational or had different moods (happy, sad etc.) but somehow i get the
feeling that pancham liked doing different versions. These are the few
songs
i can recall as of now...
(please correct me if there's something wrong in the list)

- Rimjhim gire sawan (Manzil)
- Tum bin jaoon kahan (Pyar ka mausam)
- Phoolon ka taaron ka (Hare rama hare krishna)
- Humein tumse pyar kitna (Kudrat)
- Kuch na kaho (1942 a love story)
- Yaadon ki baaraat (Yaadon ki baarat)
- Lalla lalla lori (Mukti)
- Chandni re jhoom (Nauker)
- Jidhar dekhoon main (Mahaan)
- Tujhse naaraaz nahin zindagi (Masoom)
- Tere bina jiya jaaye na (Ghar)
- Main pyaasa tum sawan (Faraar)
- Chanda o chanda (Laakhon mein ek)
- Humein aur jeene ki (Agar tum na hote)
- Aur kya ahde wafa (Sunny)
- Jeevan ke din chote sahi (Bade dilwala)
- Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi (Aa gale lag jaa)
- Kitne bhi tu kar le sitam (Sanam teri kasam)
- Jeene de yeh duniya (Lava)

Not sure where is the confusion. Mukti (starring Shashi Kapoor, Vidya Sinha), 1977/1978 was by RD. And hence the Suhani Chandni Raaten which is Mukti's song is also composed by RD.

Am I missing something ?

Read in an RD interview to a magazine long time back where he mentioned that
he wasn't particularly interested in Rafi singing the other version of 'Tum
bin jaoon kahan" but due to producers insistence he had to do it. At the
same time he mentioned that although the Kishore version went on to become a
chartbuster he liked the Rafi version more.
