I think Moike will have an eye on her grave today…
BTN
Approved (I think that's what I'm supposed to say, it's been a long
time since there was any bad taste here I was beginning to think I was
in the wrong newsgroup).
You now have me wondering if the anti-Semitic troll was hoping for a BTN.
What a gas that would have been![1]
[1]I considered posting "Pull the other one - it's got Belsen," but I
thought better of it.
BTN
Approved (though I wonder if it would have been if posted by another umrat).
<beam> Thank you, BTM.
And I think you are right to question whether such a joke should be made
by a non-member of the group affected. I certainly wouldn't have posted
anything equivalent about slavery, for example. I was even hesitant
about what I did post, but I thought I could trust umrats with it - and
anyway, it's high time we had some BT around here.
I have recommended The Jewish Joke by Devorah Baum here before, I think.
It is
a) hilarious, and
b) very thoughtful about the purpose of jokes about painful topics and
when and by whom they may be acceptable. My review of it, saying a
little more about this, is here if anyone is interested:
