Does that mean she doesn't mind a man with no ears, but if he has ears
they have to be pierced?

Bummer, that.

Rachel's "Perfect Guy"
childish Wish List is obviously ridiculous
Post by Zippy
Rachel is a real girlie. The list was taken from her website. Rachel is
a typical 'US' American woman.

Her Wish list simply reflects their poor culture... sounds like some
comparatively primitive strategies from the pentagon...

Of course, she's your typical female. Her ideal man is supposed to have no
imperfections, even when she knows damn well that she herself has a laundry list of her
own imperfections and flaws. Sounds a lot like my ex-girlfriend ...

Funny stuff, though I see nothing wrong with composing a "wish list"
of characteristics that your ideal partner would possess. It's like a
lot fantasizing about how you'd spend your money if you win the
lottery.

Personally, I'd never be nearly as picky as the woman who posted the
list, even in my fantasies, but that's probably influenced by my
"beggars can't be choosers" mindset.

Standards or prejudices?

The guy who took us for meditation a month ago told
us he had recently had to start eating meat for health
reasons and he suddenly realised that he'd always felt
superior to people who ate meat. He had never even
realised his prejudices until then.

So when a man has standards it's just his anti-female prejudices
showing? Typical feminazi hate-speech.

More of an argument about semantics, since the only person without

If things keep going according to plan, humanity will split into two
different species: the Homo Yankius, adipose 90%, and Homo Sapiens, water
90%. History books in the 25th century will read: During the 21st century,
while the sea level was rising, the Homo Yankius increased it's chance of
survival this natural catastrophe by stuffing itself with lipids. With this
wonderfully intelligent behaviour they outsmarted the Homo Sapiens, which
went extinct around 2030. Hallelujah!

Seen this already; It's not worth the time pursuing a girl looking for
all these qualities.
Interestingly, I often see women posting gigantic laundry lists of
what they want, but I've yet to see a woman post a list of what she
has or can offer.
[Snipped]
Funny stuff, though I see nothing wrong with composing a "wish list"
of characteristics that your ideal partner would possess. It's like a
lot fantasizing about how you'd spend your money if you win the
lottery.
True. There's a bit of wishing going on in this one's list, but
whereas your wish list would include boats, houses, a chopper, etc,
her's involves human beings, and human beings on whom she would impose
greatly. Your house won't have its feelings hurt because it's not the
gigantic mansion you'd rather have. She may hurt her man's feelings
when she subtly lets him know that he's not the big, buff, rich stud
she'd like him to be.

Ahh, but you aren't the beggar. They're the beggars. You're
competing to be the one whose windsheild they wash without asking.
Why? Have you ever read _The Manipulated Man_ by Esther Vilar?

Try this mindset: You'll look for exactly what you want. If you
don't find her, you won't have anything, and you'll find joy in other
areas of life.

One of my coworkers thinks it's some sort of problem that I have no
girlfriend. Now it seems the receptionist has a thing for me, and
when my coworker told me of this, I shrugged it off. In the first
place, I did not find her attractive. In the second, one should never
dip his quill in the company ink. "You see? You're the problem." he
said. To that, I say, "What problem?" Why is it a problem if I won't
take out some woman I don't even like just so I can have a girlfriend?
(Rhetorical question)

To me, the bigger problem is that a lot of men think they must. They
think it's unnatural and problematic to be without someone. Wrong.
(By the way, in whose interest is it for men to think this?)

Still another of my friends told me that I should marry in order to
enhance my career, because I'd work harder with a family to support.
Well of course I would, but for whom?

Then another of my friends told me of seeing a guy outside a video
game shop, holding a game, and acting very excited that he was about
to go home and play his game. This man would be called "nerd" or
"loser," but why? He's using the fruit of his labor to do something
he likes. What could be wrong with that?

The attitude of this society toward men needs serious adjusting.

Isn't it strange that nobody would have called a female a loser if
she'd been seen outside a jewellery or shoe shop?

I don't see why this should be too difficult for most "regular jock's"
(pardon if I have used the term incorrectly, it is american I think)
physique notwithstanding - there are a couple of things that might take a
bit of effort, such as liking (female) shopping for example. I mean,
really, how many guys can honestly say that (pysique notwithstanding) more
than, say, ten things on the list are beyond them? She's describing what
*I* call a "Nice Guy" (unlike the poor fellow described in "A Womans

I do wonder about this. With central power locks, is this really necessary?
If I was a girl, I'd be thinking to myself "Dude! How come you can't afford
a decent car with central locking?". Maybe this is because I'm thinking like
a guy :) So, do you open the door for her and risk her thinking you haven't
got a good car with central locking, or do you unlock the door from the
driver's side and risk looking rude?

Recently, a man who does have central locking opened my door for me first,
but then I was trying to figure out how to open his for him and I pressed
the wrong button and locked him out. So much for that.
It did impress me though, that he thought of doing it regardless, although
even if he just used his central locking that would've been fine too.

If I was a girl, I'd be thinking to myself "Dude! How come you can't
afford a decent car with central locking?". Maybe this is because
I'm thinking like a guy :)
Well then I must think like a guy too because I thought the same thing!
Pfffttt, I bet you change your own engine oil too :b

So, do you open the door for her and risk her thinking you haven't
got a good car with central locking, or do you unlock the door from
the driver's side and risk looking rude?
Recently, a man who does have central locking opened my door for me first,
but then I was trying to figure out how to open his for him and I pressed
the wrong button and locked him out. So much for that.
Oh well, at least you passed "The Test" :D Ever seen the film "A Bronx
Tale"? The mafia guy lends the kid his 1968 Cadillac DeVille convertible
(central locks were not standard equipment on those back then) to impress
his girlfriend. He tells the kid to open the door for her, and that he
should dump the girl for being selfish if she doesn't unlock his door for
him :D
Post by Nutmegger
It did impress me though, that he thought of doing it regardless, although
even if he just used his central locking that would've been fine too.
Ok, that's cleared it up for me if I ever find myself in that unlikely
situation! ;) I guess it would seem natural to open the door for her if you
both approach the car from the passenger side.

For your next social etiquette question...you're at a friend's house. He/she
brings out a small cake and cuts it into two unequal halves! Do you take the
big piece and look greedy, or do you take the small one and embarrass your
host? :D

You always take the bigger one, you must never embarrass your host or
hostess. That is, if you are intending on eating it all! Otherwise, you
say: "Half of that piece is fine." And leave the rest for the host or
hostess.

Methinks you're biased, but locking the guy out must be a hazy signal
relationship-wise. At least you didn't accidentally release the parking
brake too :D

You know, it just doesn't occur to me when walking toward the car if he is
going to do this or not.
I see it like eating an icecream cone, something enjoyable I like. But,
having him unlock the door is like getting sprinkles on top.

I have a test too, but not for people it is for restaurants. If they don't
serve their butter soft, then it isn't a very good place to eat at.

When and where can I expect a woman to open doors for me?

Oh yeah the gender stereotype rules apply here. So much for equalty.

As soon as they work out how the central locking controls on the driver's
door works ;b Personally, I prefer it when they open their tops for me :D

That's no problem.
But the problem is the fine line that "good" men are expected to walk --
Most of the desired behavior isn't the problem. It's her shallow
"Abercrombie" fashionboy BS turns me off. Okay, I look like a hippy -
ponytail, beard, bluejeans.
I can tell she's not my type. Looks don't matter as much as "type."

Rachel's "Perfect Guy" Qualities List
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rachel is a real girl. The list was taken from her website. Rachel is a
typical American woman. Keep in mind that she expects everything on the
list simply because she has vagina.
[snip]
I don't see why this should be too difficult for most "regular jock's"
(pardon if I have used the term incorrectly, it is american I think)
physique notwithstanding - there are a couple of things that might take a
bit of effort, such as liking (female) shopping for example. I mean,
really, how many guys can honestly say that (pysique notwithstanding) more
than, say, ten things on the list are beyond them? She's describing what
*I* call a "Nice Guy" (unlike the poor fellow described in "A Womans

Monster\
Hope y'all realize that if you go through that list, there are about a
half dozen things than totally contradict each other. She wants him to
flirt with her "in public and private," but not think about sex. Come
again? She wants him paying total attention to her in every respect,
but be hard working and focused on his job at the same time. Huh?
These are just two contradictions. Can anyone spot the others? It's
like that old Beatles song that says: "I want a short haired girl who
sometimes wears it twice as long."

I never saw that. How observant of you! Yet more proof that people
don't know what they want. And want what they can't have.

But the truth of what she wants is in-between all of what she says.

Timing is key.

She wants him to flirt with her sometimes and not think about sex
at other times. But he has to mix it up a little bit. And mostly on
his own terms. If he is too considerate of her she'll bore quickly.

Nope. It's because she *thinks* she knows what she wants, but I
am convinced that if she did get it all she'd be bored in 15 minutes.

This is hilarious. I'm leaving it intact for future reference.

You know, under the right (wrong) circumstances a girl would dump
a guy for any or all of the above. It's all in the perception...

It probably all depends on what part of the menstrual cycle she's on.

I think there have actually been studies showing that when women are at
their most fertile, they have higher* standards.

--
*though "higher" in this case has to do with greater occurrence of a
specific set of traits like fluctuating asymmetry, testosterone levels,
sperm count, etc. that the woman doesn't perceive directly, but rather
interprets indirectly as "attractiveness"

Does their (our) fertility correlate with horniness?
If so, then standards would be sure to drop if
anything.

Sure it is. Some things are simple. Woman beaters are cowards and
losers. That's the word from the Catfish!

And I assert that sex outside marriage is evil.

If they are "cowards" why don't they fear punishment from the law?
The modern legal climate, at least where I live, is not favorable
to men who beat women (or for any other type of domestic
disturbance---I know a guy who spent a night in jail because
he had an argument with his brother and he threw a Christmas
tree). While I don't admire the courage of people who are
brave enough to break the law despite a high probability
of getting punished, I have to admit they are braver than I am.
I would be afraid to go to prison and suffer all the consequences.

If they are "losers" why do they have women who keep coming back
for more beatings? There are lots of guys who can't even get those
same women to give them their phone numbers.

Surely men who beat women have character flaws you can accurately
malign them for---how about their lack of tolerance and
compassion, and their inability to control their anger?
Calling them "cowards" and "losers" does not make sense.
The problem with men who beat women is they are *too*
courageous to fear the law and *too* successful at manipulating
women, i.e., they are the opposite of what you accuse them of being.

My experience ... that is, from what I've seen of relationships
between women and their abusive men, is that - in fact -
once the men *are* busted by the law, they do start taking
this issue seriously. Until then, these men act with pompous
bravado, feeling that they are above the law.

Of course, often the woman has to find the courage to file
charges against her abuser to get the law involved.

It seems to me that *that* is the whole point: the men can 'read'
their partners and they *know* they don't have the courage
(read: the women lurv them too much or are too intimidated by
them) to get the law involved.

I think that is why more information about the battering
syndrome and violence in relationships is disseminated,
the better the chance a woman in an abusive relationship
is going to avail herself of assistance in dealing with the
issue.

Oftentimes, too, a woman can put up with a lot of abuse;
but, when she sees how it is affecting her children, that
is when she will take the steps to leave or press
charges.

In our Canadian province there is The Spousal Assault
Act in which if there is evidence of battering by one partner
against the other, the RCMP can arrest the batterer even
without the victim filing a complaint.

My knee-jerk response is *Excellent move!* But I haven't
considered the implications.

loneliness is a cancer

a dreadful, raging cancer that eats at your insides.

a cancer that renders even the busiest single person's life an
exercise in monochrome, free of the vibrant colors that fill the lives
of the happily committed.

it is a cancer that has consumed me for years, a cancer that i cannot
defeat. a cancer that exterminates hope and feeds your despair.

Many beaters bank on the fact that their antics will not be reported.
And most from what I've read, are not. Or that the woman will take back
the charges after he has had sufficient time to work on her... or wear
her down.

doctor ordered for said bully types.

Hardly any man is brave enough to strike a woman he does not know. Or
going a step farther - know well.
Hitting starts when he(or she)is confident that the other is trapped. Be
it legally by marriage, children, or a host of other entanglements. More
often than not they will return to the attacker simply because there is
no other place for them to go. And often they are not able to pick up
and start over.
I would say going back is seldom by choice.. Though it certainly does
appear that way in many instances.

Many women are probably scared for their lives. Or the life of the man
asking for the number.

This is true. Many have a hair trigger to their anger. Some are under
the influence, be it drugs or alcohol.
Some have been beat themselves and cannot see any other way, so they
repeat what they know.

They need help. For many, that help comes too little too late.

The fear of going to jail stops much of what would probably be going
down behind closed doors.

As a child I remember many a time listening to my father shouting in
full spectrum language how he would "wipe the floor with the &*&*&
cops". Let em come!

And when they knocked on the door minutes later he was nice as pie to
them.

Because the "law" doesn't do very much & woman beaters are also
fucking stupid assholes too.

One of the great mysteries dude. But I still think they are fucking
cowardly cunts.

Thoughts on "Nice Guys"", earlier -uhhg!)
