Sunny and 90 and glorious when I left Bermuda this morning; gloomy and 80 back
here in DC. For the flight:
long sleeveless dress, watercolor print layer in lilac hues over an ultraviolet
underskirt
bronze H-strap sandals
For some very desultory unpacking and waiting for my grocery delivery:
white tee-shirt
black shorts
My trip was fantastic--the weather was absolutely perfect every day (sunny and
around 90) and the surf was big enough to body surf yet not so big that you
couldn't also snorkel (the beach the group stays at offers easy access to the
coral reefs which surround the islands). We spent an afternoon or two in
Hamilton, and a day out at Cambridge Beaches, but most of the time was spent on
"our" beach (which we once again shared, as we did last time, with the Germans
photographing a bunch of different catalogs). Last night we had a spectacular
dinner in an even more spectacular setting--an open air terrace perched on a
cliff at The Coral Beach and Tennis Club. We all literally gasped when we came
out of the dining room and saw where they'd set up our table. And the
food....amazing.
My hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes are platinum due to the effects of salt and
sea, I'm nicely tanned but not burned, and my sun poisoning was kept to a
minimum due to the regular application of my af recommended sunscreen and my af
tee-shirt (useful for midday swims and snorkeling).
I did not want to leave!!
