I'm a little suspicious here, as is my nature.

Barbara Frum only refers to the interviewee as Mr. Watson. There is no
indication from that interview that it is actually Paul Watson.

It seems Google is indeed my friend. I should always talk to him first. ;)

I did find this quote from Paul Watson defending the 30 year old statement:

""What I said in 1978, I meant at the time and what I'm saying now I mean at
the time -- I don't see any contradictions here," he said in an interview
from Sydney."

From the Moncton Times & Transcript,
Published Thursday April 17th, 2008
Appeared on page C12

It appears he learned to love the gravy train he so easily criticized back
then. If he ever did have any principles that he believed in, it appears he
sold them along the way. Bleedin' hypocrite.

See Here

Watson shrugged off the resurrected interview, saying Greenpeace and the
International Fund for Animal Welfare, or IFAW, continue to profit from
seals, but do little to physically protect them -- unlike his group.

"What I said in 1978, I meant at the time and what I'm saying now I mean
at the time -- I don't see any contradictions here,'' he said in an
interview from Sydney.

I heard the interview replayed on CBC radio the other day. It is Paul
Watson.

The seal hunt is the cash cow for the Sea Shithead Society. They'd all be a
sorry crowd if all of a sudden their sourch of income was gone and they
would have to actually get real jobs.

I also heard that the Farley Mowat is only a shell of a ship and that they
were hoping that the government vessels or some other proponent of the seal
hunt would sink it and they could get a big insurance settlement.

Apparently they are now saying that the government can keep the boat as they
have a new vessel called the "Steve Irwin"

Great idea! If they keep the POS and then issue a warrant for the arrest of
this loon and all his buddies till they pay for it's disposal. That oughta
keep the scum out!
One of the videos with this one on youtube purports to show the CG
vessel "ramming" the sea shitter, as the sea shitter is obviously in the
middle of running down a couple of men on an ice floe - NICE! Maybe the sea
shitter society should edit their "incriminating video" Their so-called
captain should be stripped of his right to pilot anything bigger than a
dinghy worldwide. This will look great on his resume if he ever tries to get
a real job.
